Thankfully it is freezing
I realised (re-realised?) that I get incredibly stressed if someone is angry. They don’t have to be angry at me, and they can be just a little pissed off, but it stresses me out. So I’m really hoping those kids don’t show up tonight, or ever again, because not only do I get annoyed at them, I get all stressy because Jake gets annoyed at them (he wrote in his note on yesterday’s entry that he wishes it was legal to shoot them from the bedroom window. I… almost feel the same way.). It’s an instant reaction too, and because people park in the parking lot often at night, and talk as they go to their car, every time I hear so much as a murmur outside I go instantly… yargh. I hate talking or even thinking about this. Hopefully when we don’t respond to them for 6 weeks (heheh) they will just go away for good.
Heheh, a car just started and it sounded like someone clearing their throat!
Today we had lots of fun. Grocery shopping on the weekend before thanksgiving! Yay. I made Jake wear Ashley in the babyhawk, which was great because he now knows how awesome it is and he can’t wait to do that again. It was nice because we had all the cart space and there wasn’t a stroller to maneuver as well. We did a 2 week + 2 day grocery shop, which puts us up to when we leave.
After we had our provisions, we went to Staples to get Jake’s memory book for next year. Those things are expensive so we were waiting until we had a good coupon. Seeing as Starbucks was right nearby, and I have a giftcard for there, we took advantage of the buy-1-get-1-free thing they had for the holiday drinks. Of course, it was too hot for a hot drink (it was 50F/10C, and we were hot. It wasn’t that long ago that 50 was freezing to us!) so we had frappuccinos instead, and both choices were kinda terrible. I think the flavourings would probably work with a hot drink, and non-decaf, but whatever. I know for next year. At least we didn’t waste any money discovering this.
Ashley napped for 10 minutes on the car ride home, so she didn’t have an afternoon nap (silly girl). She was too climby to bother. So when we skyped with my parents at 6, she got sick of it pretty quickly, and then got frustrated because I wasn’t feeding her and letting her nap. So she has been asleep pretty much since 6:30 (I fed her on the couch initially, so when Jake walked by and sneezed while next to her she woke up! and I took advantage and had a shower before putting her to real bed).
Dinner tonight was a pizza roll. Please, don’t let me buy pizza dough again, it never works out right. This was a complete failure, the outside got all crispy and awesome but the inside was completely raw. We sliced it and threw it back in but the outside just got black and crispy and the inside stayed raw. Stupid, stupid food. I had worked so hard on making the filling too, homemade quick-sauce (garlic/sundried tomato/chipotle/tomato paste/water), caramelised onions, mushrooms, bell pepper all cooke down nice… as well as ham and pineapple, of course. It was so terrible that we barely ate half and tossed the rest. So much sadness. I love pizza. That after the frappuccinos though, what a disappointing day.
The cool thing I realised, after tomorrow, we have 3 Sundays in a row with plans… and the 3rd is a ‘party’ with my 2 best friends! WOO! Have to work out a plate of food to bring, that is really stumping me.
Woot! Three weeks until Sez-and-Jenn-party 😀 Boo for non-delicious things though. Your pizza roll filling sounds awesome. NoNoMo update: I went out shopping for shoes and came home with underpants instead. And mum bought Isaac a cute outfit because she can’t help herself. It has anchors on.

Daddy wearing the baby carrier is the best!

I’ve only ever made my own dough, not bought it – do you buy dough to roll out or is it like a whole rolled out raw base? Lee Mee xXx

Blargh to a crappy drink/food day! Stupid kids stressing you out. Grrrr!

Maybe the pizza dough would have worked as a flat pizza. Pity, coz your filling sounds awesome. We’re getting excited about your visit.
