Taudry baubles
Ashley has worn a lot of dresses today. Most of them too short for her to really wear as a dress. I can’t decide if the brown or the rainbow is my favourite, but I would take either in my size if I was offered them. (and as much as she doesn’t look it, she’s asleep in that rainbow picture. She sleeps with her eyes open sometimes, it’s kinda terrifying when I spot it.)
Right now, Jake is practising "kicking away ninjas in case they come for her" while holding the baby. I am part of a really weird family.
I am jealous of my baby’s incredibly strong ab muscles. She likes to lay on her back and kick up in the air, and sometimes I join in. MAN what a workout.
We’ve done nothing today, other than having a baby fashion show. Yesterday the baby an I went on an adventure to Kmart. Other than her doctor’s appointment last week, it was our first trip out alone via car. So, it was our first voluntary car trip out. Only took 18 weeks. We went for a photo frame, because I ordered a nice big print of Ashley being adorable and needed somewhere for it to go. I’m glad I went to Kmart, they had timtams still! So I got two more packets, which ups my stash to 4. Here they are only available october to march (I think?) so I stocked up. I don’t eat them very often. I also got a ‘baby on board’ sign, which was needed. So many people like to not brake until they are pretty much smashing into the car (or, it looks like it from the rear view mirror) so I’m hoping this will stop that. I did say to Ash "now people will stop intentionally ramming into our car" but she didn’t get it.
This morning I had to transfer a baby sleeping on pillows on my lap onto the floor. While I was in the bathroom, she woke up and rolled off, or at least I think it was in that order. When I saw her, I rushed over expecting her to be fussing and pouting, but instead she was grinning. It was a roll down a slope so it doesn’t count as rolling from back to tummy, but she was still rather proud of herself. Go, the smoosh!
Today is stupid hot (I think it got to 95F (35C), but felt like 102F(39)) so the only time I left the apartment was to get dinner so we didn’t have to use the oven. Tomorrow is meant to be just as bad, so I don’t know what we’re going to do for eats then.
Ashy knows the deliciousness of her own feet now.
when my kids were learning how to walk, they’d make me chase them. forcing yourself to go super slow just so a toddler can outrun you is freaking exhausting! after two minutes, you’re all, stop, i can’t take it anymore. they enjoy it though.

She’s the snazziest dressed kid I know! I love that rainbow dress. I find it somewhat endearing that she sometimes sleeps with her eyes open! I have a friend who does that. And so does my cat… 😉 xx

They are ALL my favourite! She is so sweet in them! I love that babies can get away with short dresses. I usually put a pair of matching shorts/panties/diaper covers on with them and then you can see the little bum under the dress and it’s all too cute. *SQUEEEEEEEE* Also, I was looking at the first two pictures and thinking, “What kind of a chair or pillow is she propped up on?” andthen I saw the third one and was all, “Ahahaha, you moron, that’s Sez’s legs!” Tee hee! Hey, she can still wear the polka-dot pants! Yay! I’ve been wearing pants that Rhea grew out of a few months ago as capris. Yay, summer for giving extra wear out of too-small pants! But boo to summer for being so hot and sticky. Ick! You are rockin’ momma-hood and Jake is rockin’ daddy-hood! Clay keeps saying, “We seem like we’re really weird compared to other parents and we do weird stuff,” and he seems concerned by it. I now have proof that there are other perfectly abnormal parents out there too, who are also doing a great job! ~jo
