Hand or foot?

Ashley is fast asleep, sitting up on my lap. She was fussing on her playmat so I picked her up while I was shopping on amazon for Jake’s birthday present from people that aren’t me (his mum/stepdad, my mum/dad) and when I was done I noticed she was asleep. Nice, gives me a chance to post an entry WITH PICTURES while she naps. She naps so much better on me than she does if I try to put her down in her crib or anywhere else. Generally I can get 2-3 hours to myself if she is sleeping on me, or maybe half an hour if I’m lucky if I put her somewhere. So being trapped at the computer is wonderful.

Jake’s birthday present is… Jake, don’t highlight this next section, ok? I got Jake a nintendo 64 with 2 controllers, the tetrisphere game and the goldeneye game. Also Steven Tyler’s memoir (We saw him on Craig Ferguson the other night and Jake got super excited at the idea of his book so I made a mental note). Those are from probably his mum. From me he is getting Good Eats: The Later Years, which is the 3rd book in a series. He has the other 2. He’s also getting a $25 gamestop giftcard that I earned through doing surveys online. From Ashley he is getting a box of Lucky Charms and a box of Peanut Butter Cheerios. Quite often I gift Jake cereal for his birthday. I think he will be rather happy.

Skype-ing with Mum the other day was pretty fun. She had no webcam so we could only hear her, and our webcam kept flashing purple for some reason (and was apparently very pixelated for mum) but who cares! Ashley made lots of noises. Started out happy but by the end was unhappy. There was a very quick shift, and the noises didn’t change, just her face. Good thing I could see us on the webcam or I wouldn’t have noticed for a while.

Today is 99 days since Ashley was born. When Jake was here on his lunchbreak we did the math and worked out that is 2367 hours. I couldn’t be bothered working out the minutes. Would have if I had written the numbers down rather than just in my head. Math is fun!

Better go continue work on Elouise’s birthday present. My best friend Jenn’s little girl. Can’t believe it’s almost been a year since she was born. The day after she was born, I found out I was pregnant. My plan is to make a photo book that is like a storybook, about Jenn and I and now our little girls. Have to get a good gift for Ashley’s soul-cousin’s 1st birthday!
