We had our date night last night, to celebrate Jake’s birthday. It was pretty lovely. We left home at quarter to five (with Lisa taking Ashley for a walk in the stroller, which she loves and she’s used to saying goodbye to me like that because I usually stay home and clean or something when Ash and Jake go for a walk) and got back at 10.
We had dinner at Maggie McFly’s. We shared a bacon and egg burger and some beer-battered chicken strips. SO GOOD. And we had caramel apple pie for dessert. We were ridiculously early for the movie so we wandered around the mall for a while. I almost bought Ash a little handbag-type thing, but didn’t. (I really should have, today she was trying to fit a can of tomato paste ("pah") into a clutch purse from the dress-up box (that currently just purses and dish gloves).) We gave up walking and went to sit in the cinema and we were so early there wasn’t even the pre-preview random crap on the screen yet. There was a new video of Ashley on facebook so we watched that over and over until there was something else to watch.
We saw Iron Man 3. I much prefer Iron Man to Transformers, even though they are both LOUD and have metal (which is LOUDER), Iron Man has less metal so is not so loud. Bloody movie still gave me a massive headache though. I’ve given up on fully 100% enjoying a movie at the cinema though. I’m too old. The seats hurt (my legs aaaaaaache every time) and really, I’d rather watch a movie on my couch. Then pants are optional. It was still a super-lovely time with my honey, so that was yay.
When we got home, Lisa was laying on the couch in the dark with an Ash fast asleep on her belly. It was so cute. Lisa told me all about their evening together. My favourite part was that during naked time before bed, Ashley peed on the kitchen floor and then stood up, stood perfectly still, and said "pee". The last time she had peed during naked time, she had tried to walk and slipped, so I told her that she should instead stand still and tell us she had peed. And she did it! So proud.
The only bad part about having had a date is that I woke up to the place looking crappy. Normally Jake cleans up the toys and stuff that have been put in places they don’t belong before he relaxes and comes to bed, but he didn’t put the light on so he didn’t do anything so there wasn’t perfect order in the morning which I am used to so it was a bit jarring. Didn’t help that I skipped my pre-bed drink so I hadn’t consumed anything for 14 hours and so I was weak.
Today… Ash and I have done… not much. Nothing at all out of the ordinary.
Oh! Must write before I forget. When Lisa was here, I was brushing Ash’s teeth and she commented that Ash had a new tooth. So I looked, and discovered she has a molar half-way out. I wonder when I would have noticed. So she has 5 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom.
She’s so clever!! That’s wonderful! Lee Mee xXx

“Iron Man 3” was SO, so much better than I expected. All the one-liners delighted me to no end.

If you’re too old for the cinema, then there is no hope for me. ;p
