Strangely shaped brontosaurus

I do not like recipes that suck. As the recipe I was using for my white chocolate mud cake was for cucpakes, I had to look up the time for a similar recipe that is a big ol cake. And I guess the one I picked SUCKED. It called for putting foil over the top (which made sense, as when we made the cupcakes, they hd very hard tops) for most of the time, and then taking it off for the last bit. So when I took it off… uncooked completely. Now it has been in for almost 2 hours and is still completely uncooked, but with a hard crust. Stupid stupid cake.

The brownies I made turned out awesome though. Although I am eating them all, so that’s not so good.

Baking day was being awesome, and now it is not so good.

*edit* HA! Obviously bitching about it here was what the cake needed to get cooked. Still crunchy, but it is cooked. So I am happy. 🙂

Cake is getting iced right now. Well, there is a layer of it on, but it was sliding off so I’m letting it do it’s thing and then it shall get more. And crushed up raspberry bits to make it look a bit pretty. I hope it tastes good. I think the cake is fine, once you get through the stupid crust. That amazingly isn’t charcoal, just rather dark brown. Yay for things that cook at low temperatures.

Because I baked a bunch today (which really, other than the annoyance, was rather awesome) I didn’t really want to make dinner, so we had pizza. We had one in the freezer and MAN it was the best frozen pizza I have ever had. So delicious. Probably coz it was an organic one. It really was like someone handed us a nice pizza they just made. We threw a bunch of extra toppings on it, and I think that is what caused it to be a bit soggy. Next time it shall go by itself.

"in witness whereof, I have affixed my hand" is written on my car title thing, which is sitting next to me. It keeps amusing me. Like there is a hand stapled to it or something.

I should probably finish icing. And find a place for the brownies. And find a place for the cake! That thing is gonna be a bitch to store. At least it is getting eaten tomorrow. Once it sits in the car for hours. I think it is going to be a lap cake.

I had a better angled photo, but it didn’t show up on my computer for some reason. But look, I made that! And should’ve drained the raspberries! But it looks weird! And hopefully is good! Woo! Homemade!

*More edits!* The respberries worked awesome. Because of their liquid, they loosened the set icing I placed them on, so they found their own way in. The juice got all sticky, but who cares. Lovely.

Oh, and I finally got emailed our e-tickets. Woo! I hold in my hand the things to take to the thing to let us to go Australia. Woot. Now to get travel insurance…. gah.

I so should not have looked at that in my current starving state! ;op~jo

Lap cake gets a bit awkward after a while without a tin or a plate. Make sure to include that.
