Squid has/had pain. Featuring baby babble.

I don’t know if you remember, but back in, I think October last year, Jake had a pain in his lower right abdomen. Well, that returned on the weekend. Yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon he asked me to make a doctor’s appointment. So I call up, explain where he hurts and they tell me the next available appointment is next wednesday. Thankfully more explaining (of the "no, that’s not good enough. It’s his lower right side, he’s had this pain before…" variety) and a note got sent to his doctor. An hour later we get a call back and there is an appointment for 11:30 today (Thursday). I am so glad this stuff is all happening after Ashley was born. Before she existed, I would not have stood my ground, and Jake would just be in pain for a week waiting for an appointment (or his mum would get stuff done for us).

So off we went this morning. Last time the doctor suspected appendix, this time gall bladder/liver. So we get sent to DRA (Diagnostic Radiology Associates?) in Waterbury with an appointment at 12:30. Score, we’ve been to DRA before (twice, last time there was pain) so I know where we are going! Except, we get there and where I thought was the right place was I guess Watertown? Or they are both Waterbury. I don’t know this place well enough. They 2 places were maybe 5 minutes apart, and thankfully my phone has gps. We still got to the place with 10 minutes to spare, so that was awesome.

Ash was so great the whole time, by the way. At the doctor’s office she sat in the "patient’s companion" chair and I sat on the floor, adn she happily played with her toy because she was a big girl. At DRA she also had her own chair, plus all the receptionist ladies fawning over her, waving, coming out to talk to her… (one of the receptionists at the Drs came out to say hello too. I guess these places don’t get cute babies often!)

On the way home, Jake could finally eat (he was smart and didn’t eat since waking up because we knew he’d be sent for an ultrasound and you have to fast a certain number of hours before one) and he was SO HAPPY because I had made him a salad wrap with loads of hummus. He’s nuts for hummus. I had one too and it was SO GOOD.

Results came at about 4, everything looks normal. So now we are just observing. Jake’s telling me it is already fading. What is up with that, it did the same thing last time? Bothered him for ages, see the doc, he finds nothing, pain fades. WTF.

ANYWAY. Boring entry that I just wanted to put here for record’s sake. Enjoy a video of Ashley chatting. She was having a full on babble conversation with Jake… until I got the camera. She said things that sounded like "icecream" and then "i like him" although thinking about it… they sound the same.

that does sound like gall bladder… I hope they can figure it out…

Ohhh, I hate random pains like that! Mine are usually cysts… but I had one once where I was doubled over in pain for 10 hours. Went to ER and nothing! And then it just went away!

ryn: Do you want me to stash a packet to send to you for when I’m on full-time wages? (I probably should’ve mentioned that in my TT post haha) They come in packs of 5 biscuits now too. It’s odd, but awesome.

I hope the pain goes away and stays away. It’s good to have nothing wrong. I love the videos.

I’m glad he’s ok and hope the pain fades soon. Lee Mee xXx

ryn: no joke, right? i don’t know if you’ll be able to find them, kiddos! BTW, I saw something the other day that said Australians eat the most chocolate eggs in the WORLD for Easter. Whaddya think? 😀

Why helllooooo, little miss talkative! (Gus & I totally do the “and then what?” with the Faces allll the time. Also, “you’re just making that up” and “that’s ALL?”)
