So many things!

Yesterday, Ashley’s Grandma Lisa and Grandpa Matt came to visit her. Lisa had been to the beach with her friends for a week, so she had a whole pile of gifts for the little baby, including a sun hat signed by all the ladies. My girl looks good in a hat.

We spent the day with her grandparents, doing all kinds of things. We ate lunch at the restaurant downstairs, where I had a delicious cheeseburger and Ashley had a good look around. Everyone loves her, even those that don’t know her, so that is a wonderful place to take the baby.

After everyone but me had a nap, Jake was off work so we went to the local mexican place for dinner. Ashley was the most behaved little girl. She sat quietly on my lap and then when it was time for my fajitas to arrive, she slept in her carseat for the rest of the meal. It was wonderful! Matt took a 15 minute long video of Ashley sleeping because he was trying to capture her laughing/smiling in her sleep.

Today has been such a big day in the world of Ashley. This morning we were having such a great time, she was smiling at me and just being adorable and amused by me, and I think she did a half-laugh. She hasn’t yet laughed while awake (she’s been laughing in her sleep since she was only a few weeks old) so this was pretty awesome. And I happened to be recording her at that moment! So Jake got to see it when he came home on his lunch break. Who knows when/if you guys will get to see it, it is a HUGE file and I don’t know if I have the patience to upload it.

This afternoon, again in this position, Ashley finally realised she has feet. She was staring at her feet, wiggling her toes and moving her feet/legs around and being so amazed/amused by it. I think we spent 15 minutes like that – me holding her up as she tries to fold in half in order to get a good look at her feet. It was such a great fun time.

After we had a nap (in my bed, I was tired and she wanted to suck on her pacifier for a while. I slept with her fist resting against my chin. So cute) we were back on the couch being silly. The last few days, Ash has really loved when I make animal noises. She’s always loved when her Daddy moos at her, but she is also entertained by pigs, ducks, sheep, chickens and goats. Goat noise is great when she’s half-crying, it just snaps her out of it and into grins.

I said "hi Ashley, can you go ‘mooo’?" and… she kinda did. This went back and forth a few times (I tried to video it and she caught on, wouldn’t do it again until the camera went away) and thankfully Jake came home before she was done for good. Jake heard Ashley’s little baby "mooo" (more "ooo" but she was trying to copy so pretty well done!) and instantly teared up because that is how adorable she is.

Okay, back to baby. I just had to come write about these things before other things filled my mind.

Omg, sleep laughs were too cute. I remember the first time I heard Cait laugh in her sleep. I had to google it because I barely believed what I heard! Cait laughs while awake now, but it’s not a full haha laugh it’s just a ahhhhh throat laugh. I can’t wait for her first baby laugh! She does squeel though! Too cute. She looks so much like you and Jake, I can’t decide who she looks more like!
