Snow and sugar are so wonderful together
I have taken a giant pile of pictures in the last 24 hours. Cut it down to only the best, it is still 22 pictures. Which is pretty good. But that’s because IT SNOWED so pictures of fun and pretty needed to be taken. And I played with cookies, which also needed photographic evidence.
So yes, snow. I noticed after I wrote my entry last night that it looked like we lived near a beach. The parking lot had a very slight dusting of snow that was blowing around like sand. There was a fair amount of snow when I went to bed. When I woke up… much more. Still not HUGE amounts, but… oh any amount that is enough to be able to walk in… it makes me so so happy.
I dragged Jake outside with me (after giving him one of his christmas presents, a beanie to replace his old one that went missing a few years ago) and we went to take pictures of the christmas tree near the bank. Tis so pretty with snow on it. I really want to steal the ornaments though, they are so pretty!
Jake has a habit of not telling me when he’s going to take my photo. There was an awesome pile of plow-snow near the road so I climbed it. And fell into it. And had lots and lots of fun. Not quite as awesome as the piles at the other apartment were, but still great. I meant to go find the place where the plow pushes the rest of the snow (in hopes that there would be a GIANT MOUNTAIN like there is at the mall when they plow…) but I forgot.
Once inside and warming up, I grabbed some leftover lemon juice from the fridge and made some icing for some of the sugar cookies I made the other day.
Only the christmas trees got to be green. Green stars and candy canes and things are a bit odd. And of course, I ate the leftover icing.
I love that the icing is the same colour as my headphones. I really want a cookie right now but I fear it will make me sick. Too much sugar. EVERYTHING I ate yesterday had lots of sugar. Today, everything did as well. Until dinner. We had nachos, was the most savoury meal I could think of. Oh, it was good. Seems to have killed my sugar-headache too. Mmm…. tiny whisk covered in icing…
I dragged Jake back outside in the afternoon, we needed to move the car so the plow-man could remove the huge amounts of snow tonight, and we attempted to shovel the front area of the restaurant, because I felt like it. I couldn’t remember where the path and where the grass was though, so we gave up after a while. There is a decent enough path carved out of the snow, so that’s something.
The sunset tonight sure was beautiful.
I want snow at Christmas! Heard on the news this morning that the USA east coast has been pretty much snowed in with all the storms. Looks pretty where you are though. Thanks for your Christmas card! Our posties are on strike…AGAIN…so it was pretty amazing it made it through! 🙂 I’ve been slack this year with my cards. I haven’t sent a single one. 🙁
