She’s a tiny little person!

Tuesday was… exhausting. I couldn’t go anywhere, couldn’t leave Ashley’s side without her crying. Her playmat music got stuck on for 2 hours (normally it shuts off after 10 minutes, apparently when the batteries are dying it doesn’t stop?) while she was napping on me, which just added to the exhaustion. I would have had a meltdown but I knew I had an out the next day.

Wednesday was the most lovely day. Lisa and Matt came to babysit so I could go do things! They got here at 10, and we all went to have lunch with Jake at 10:45. While we were down there, Barb (main cook) took Ashley and went for a walk to the store next door, it was very weird to be sitting there with all the people that usually are looking after the bub and none of them having her. After my pancakes I came upstairs, fed the baby, and then ran away.

I was gone for 5 hours, and it was pretty much all LOTS OF FUN. I got to drive around a lot listening to my music as loud as I could stand it (loud enough that I could sing along ridiculously loud and still hear the words) which I don’t get to do even with Jake in the car let alone with Ash and her baby ears. I went to Starbucks and got a yummy caramel frappuccino (can’t have that normally, caffeine affects Ashley terribly) which was FREE because of a gift card I’ve had for ages and haven’t been able to use.

Then I went to Costco and got a bunch of stuff and put all our cans and bottles in the machines there (even though they apparently only accept things they sell, the only cans that it wouldn’t take were ones we bought there) which saved me almost $10.

I went to Target (another gift card!) and got a bunch more stuff, including freezy teething things for Ash. She bursts into tears randomly every so often and these help. Pretty sure she’ll have teeth soon. I also got myself 2 pairs of awesome socks. Last time I was there I didn’t realise the socks were so cheap ($2.50) so I only got one pair. So I made sure to get 2 this time. Only… they were half off, so they were $2.50 combined. Yargh, so many pretty socks.

I feel like I went to more places, but that was it. Then the fun was over, and I went to the laundromat. There were so many babies there! I think it was mothers-of-youngins time, it was crazy.

When I got home, I found out that Ashley had gone for a walk (in the stroller, without the car seat… first time! She looked so grown up!) , had a bath, had a bottle, and properly learned to sit and stay sitting. She sat on the bed with me for 10 minutes, at least, without using anything for support. So proud!

 
This afternoon, Kerry came up to visit. It was lovely. Ashley really likes her ‘aunty’.
