Pillars of creation
First, thank you for all your notes and care on the previous entry. I seem to be healed from Saturday’s injury now, which is nice. Still hurts a bit to move, but I can actually do things like sit on the floor or crouch in front of the fridge briefly and not end up temporarily crippled. Which is a lovely thing. Now for the mild pain to go away completely!
Today was a ball of fun. First thing I saw when I got on the computer this morning was an email from Gale, my father-in-law. He had gotten a letter saying I was denied medical insurance (even though I just got it) so I had to get to the post office and see if I had the same letter. I did. Then there was calls to my case worker and to Lisa (dear mother-in-law), because she kicks ass and takes charge and is VERY useful to have on your side when there are issues. She got the guy to stop what he was doing and call me to sort it all out. 2 weird things. 1) absolutely no record of that letter in their system. 2) even if there was, what it said (I was ‘denied’ because I wasn’t a citizen or an eligible alien) makes absolutely no sense because they wouldn’t do that. For this insurance, all that mattered was that I was a resident.
So Lisa kicked ass and got stuff organised for me. And Matt, who I talked to before Lisa because she was out, made me laugh when I was stressed and crying, so that was also awesome. Jake and I seriously have the best parental team, we’re covered on both sides of the globe! So awesome.
This afternoon was me half-snoozing on the couch with a Mo-burger, as he is currently known. Mowgli is either depressed or homesick or has learnt how to be manipulative and get love and pats whenever he wants to. Whenever he wakes up, he meows pathetically. Sometimes just me saying "hi mowgli! hello!" from the other room in response to each meow is enough. Sometimes he needs pats and calm soothing voice. Today he needed to stalk me to the couch and snuggle up next to me. He refuses to curl up on me, but he flops down next to me and demands a hand on either his belly or head before he goes to sleep. It is the cutest thing! I also have a picture of him sleeping next to me with his foot in my pocket, but that is on my phone and therefore stuck.
Dinner tonight was going to be bbq pasta (can’t say spaghetti because we don’t eat spag. I tend to choke on it. I eat like a duck) but the recipe turned out to be stupidly time-consuming. So I’m making that tomorrow during the day. We have the chicken roasted up nice and ready to shred into it (recipe calls for pulled pork but this way, I can eat it too yay!) so mmm, tomorrow-dinner. Tonight we just had leftovers. I had yummy rice that Jake had seasoned (he seasons WAY better than I do, my flavours are never subtle and almost always too much, he is a calm and gentle seasoner) up all yum, with pan roasted broccoli and peas/corn (that’s where I’m a viking). Good tasty meal. There was some chicken in there too, I think.
For Jake’s birthday almost 2 months ago, I got him a poster of an image in space. Of what he think is the pillars of creation. I think he may be right, I think that is what it is called. But anyway, the poster has been flattening on the dining table with all our heavy books on it for the last 2 months. The cats loved climbing over the piles of books, rubbing their faces on all the corners and sleeping in the cute little nooks they made. The poster only made it on the wall yesterday. It is really pretty.
My cat sleeps like that too. Only, he does it because he’s retarded lol “He is a calm and gentle seasoner” made me gigglesnort. Oh dear. I’m glad you’re injury is better (and that the insurance thing is sorted)! Hopefully your body plays nicer for the next few months.

Those pictures are adorable! I wish my cat was that affection. He too doesn’t like to curl up on people. Weird kitties. Glad that you’ve got an awesome parental team on your side, hope all that insurance stuff works out real soon! x

Aww, such cute pictures. I’m glad the pain is less now. Hopefully it’ll clear up full soon! I have a dodgy back and it’s not pleasant at all 🙁

Glad everything is sorted with insurance (YAY for Lisa) and that your back is getting better. Ignore first part of email. Cute kitty. I wanted to see a picture of the pillars of creation. Nevermind, I will google it. Take care. Giant hugs.

When my aunt was pregnant, her dog, Tessa, would not leave her alone! She became so protective of her throughout the whole nine months, like she just knew there was a little baby in there. :o) Maybe that’s what dear ol’ Mowgli is up to? Glad you’re starting to feel a bit better and that the insurance is finally sorted. xxx
