Orange you glad I didn’t say bluenana?

Tonight we tried a lentil burger recipe I found. Total fail. There is no way we could make the mixture hold together to form patties. It was really tasty though, so we ate half the mix in a bowl. I’m hoping I can find a way to make them stay together so we can try them as they should be.

I haven’t properly written since Saturday? Oops.

Last Sunday was Jake’s birthday. We went out to Red Robin with his family for yummy burgers (that were way smaller than I remember them being the 2 times we have been previously. The other times I have had to squash the burgers for a while and even then would have had to unhook my jaw in order to get my mouth around it. And I got the same thing! Anyway…) and just good family time. When we got home we ate Rice Krispie treats that we made before we left. Tasty things, those are. Jake says they are better than he remembers them being. I have no frame of reference but I do know they were good. And they lasted almost all week! Double yay!

On Friday they threw a little party to celebrate Jake getting older.

Ew, cat puked right next to the desk. Twice. Why is Jake in the shower now? I hate having to clean up food-puke. I can barely handle it when she pukes up foamy water. Ew. Sorry for sharing. Ew.

Anyway, so they threw a party for Jake. A small party, but still good. We have half a cake in the fridge still. Not too bad for a store-bought thing. I got to know Meagan a bit better so that was nice (her name is pronounced meghan so it confuses me every time I try an write it).

Saturday after the restaurant closed, everyone that worked went to a local icecream-making farm, and they invited us along! Such good stuff. I got coffee icecream with hot caramel poured all over it and then covered in oreo pieces. It looked so good someone in the line stopped me eating to find out what I got. There was talk of making it a regular thing which would be so awesome. I’ll have to remember to bring my own spoon, that caramel was way too thick for the pathetic plastic spoon (the icecream was almost too strong for it!). There were group pictures taken, by someone with no computer, so if we ever get a copy of the photos it won’t be soon. I hope we do get copies, that would be lovely, it was a bunch of good looking people.

Today there was a parade down Main Street (tomorrow is memorial day) so we watched that from our bedroom windows. There was no person in a duck costume on a segway (although there was someone dressed as a spanner on a segway… not as funny though) so my amusement came from the miniature horses. One of them did a giant shit in the middle of the road right outside our building, so at the end of the parade when everyone was trying to go away, I sat at the window waiting for someone to drive through the shit, hoping it would be a fancy-pants car for that extra funny. It wasn’t, but it was still funny. Just not super-funny.

Tomorrow, hopefully, we are having dinner with Jake’s dad. Who knows, I guess we’ll find out right before it happens.

Title: Jake’s silly attempt to come up with a creative nail-polish name. Amused me greatly.

OPI (the famous nail color company) would love that name. Yummy ice cream I have heard of it but never been there. Hope you have fun with Gale. Love you and miss you

That ice cream sounds amazing!! Hate it when my cat pukes. Especially because I’m the one who has to clean it up haha

maybe try some of that no-egg stuff (you want them vegan right?) coz they use eggs to bind burgers so hypothetically fake egg should work

Sorry. I got a bit silly there, adding on to animalian’s suggestion. Pity the lentil mix didn’t hold together but good that it tasted yummy.

Cat puke is made of nasty. But yes, the foody kind is my least favourite as well. Followed by the foamy kind, and lastly the hairball kind. Those are usually pretty easy to pick up. *vom* Ouuu, your ice cream sounds nummy! ~jo

ryn: Yeah me too. The sandwich was really good. So were the fries. They were super hot. I had to wait on them to cool. *big hugs back* Hugs are awesome. Oh, I found old letters you had sent the other day. 🙂 So I figure when I get money and stamps I’ll be sending you a letter. Because writing letters is fun.
