On fire with the spice of cheese!!
Yesterday was an absolutely perfect day. We slept in, in our deliciously warm bed (at the moment we have a blanket underneath us as well as a big soft blanket between us and the doona, it makes bed amazingly snuggly and keeps the whole thing warm when I get up in the middle of the night to pee). We got up and had breakfast and were just lazy. Jake washed the dishes, because he wanted to feel like he ‘earned’ watching the Bears game that afternoon. We snuggled up on the couch in giant Jake hoodies (I’ve stolen his blue hoodie, it fits him nicely so it is a nice big thing for me to be warm in and not worry about stretching) watching Psych. We had sweet potato soup for dinner, from the freezer so it was completely effortlessly delicious. I have to restock our frozen soup pile, we’re very low at the moment. I went to bed a bit earlier than Jake, did some sudoku on my DS while Jake watched another football game for a bit longer. I don’t know what could have made the day better, it was exactly the level of relaxation that I needed.
Ooh, I just remembered! I never uploaded/posted my 30 week photo.
It’s so funny to think I felt like I was huge 10 weeks ago. I know I’m going to be just as amused by this photo at the end of this whole thing in 2 months. I do think I’m exploding at the moment (I swear she’s trying to force her way out my belly button right now, I love how weird this feels!), the above pic is from the 4th, the picture from the 11th is amusing because there is (to me) a clear difference.
I just love it that there is a person growing inside me. This is the coolest thing EVER.
The only other photo that was on my camera was from thanskgiving. It’s a sweet potato that creeped me out because it looked like it had a vagina.
Today I ‘decorated’ for christmas. I don’t feel I did much, but that’s because we don’t have much. We have a drawing of a tree, with all the presents wrapped ‘underneath’ it, and all the cards we’ve gotten so far above it. There is a santa hat on the art-by-Jake in the lounge, and on the wedding photo in the kitchen. A few cute ornaments (santa, a snowman and a gingerbread man) on the tv stand/cabinet thing. And 2 tiny snowglobe-ornaments with our names on them on the top of the doorframe leading to the bedroom. It’s cute, and simple, and we both love it. I’m especially glad because we only have to have it all out for 2 weeks and then BAM it shall go away.
Have you ever wrapped something really strangely shaped, like a novelty spatula? I feel like I did a pretty good job with that today. I’m also really glad that the things from yankee candle, now that they are wrapped, seem to not smell so bad. When we came home on Saturday, I had to banish them to the back room because I couldn’t stand how strong they stank. (I actually freaked Jake out when I went into that store, which amused me. It’s totally not a place for me though, I had my hand in my sleeve, over my nose and mouth, didn’t breathe, was only in there for MAYBE a minute, and had to run out and took ages catching my breath and shaking off the stink while Jake made the purchase. I hope the gifts are appreciated or that was WAY too much effort)
Doctor’s appointment on Wednesday. Didn’t I just have one? Ugh.
Soon you’ll be seeing the doctor every week! I think I started at 35 or 36 weeks, if I remember correctly. I love lazy days!!

Towards the end, when I was going to the doctor every week, I seriously wanted to just rent the couch and live there. It felt like I was there ALL THE TIME.
