Never shoot salami out of a cannon…
This morning, a little before 3am, a giant evil light-flashing, loud, beeping piece of machinery came to the parking lot right outside our bedroom window and spent the next FOUR HOURS moving piles of snow.
I understand why it needed to be done (the piles of snow higher than cars were blocking off 6-8 parking spaces) and I understand why it needed to do so at such a ridiculous hour (the snow piles were right by the entrance and exit of the parking lot, and the stores in this area are almost all open 7 days) but that doesn’t mean Jake and I did not spend all pre-sun morning being angry at the machine.
Jake got up at 3:30 to investigate the noise, which was great. I had been laying in bed because I was afraid if I got up it would have woken up Jake as well, so once he got up I could too. We snuggled up on the couch and watched everything on our DVR, and then some Sesame Street and other things that are on at stupidly early hours and aren’t infomercials.
At 8 we went downstairs and had breakfast. Even though I was starving, I was too tired to chew (I got – at most – 2.5 hours sleep), so I barely got through half my food. Jake on the other hand, was happy to eat the rest of my food. I got french toast with canadian bacon. So very very delicious. It also looked like a comfy pillow but I resisted resting my head on my food.
After eats we walked to the post office, and the cold air woke me up enough to think that it was a good time to drive to the bank. We had to go to the bank today, we have lots of stuff to do/buy tomorrow so we had to cash a check. Driving to the bank was a BAD idea. Nothing happened, thankfully, I just really should not have been controlling heavy machinery.
The rest of the day has just been lazing about.
Tomorrow we have to do everything we were planning on doing today, like laundry and going to Costco and Target and Stop & Shop and Barnes & Noble… it shall be a long day.
Title: "…without putting a little salami helmet on." Possibly one of the most hilarious things Jake and I have ever heard at 5am. It was on Sesame Street. So funny.
It’s been a lot of years since I saw Sesame Street. I used to love that show 🙂

I feel your pain. When I lived in Georgia, we had some work being done on the interstate right behind our house, but they only did the work from 9pm to 6am. Our bedroom was in the back of the house, so we got to listen to it all night long. Urgh.

I thought your bank was just across the parking lot… Am I wrong, or did it move?

Sesame street is the best! I loooove Ernie. Like, I think I wanted to marry him when I was a kid. Ugh. Hate, hate, hate the big snow machines at night. Here is my question, why do they have to beep and flash?! Like, I kinda get why in the day time they do that, to warn people to get the eff out of the way. But you’d think they could turn off the blinky-flashy-beepy at night when people are clearly sleeping! *grumble-crank* ~jo

I remember salami being shot out of a cannon (or something) on Mythbusters. It made a lot of mess!!! A little salami helmet would definitely not have helped. *beep – beep, flash – flash* I’m a big snow machine!!! hehehe
