Mysteries do remain

This weekend has been so lovely. I know I say that every weekend, and every time I really mean it. Time with my husband is always fun awesome enjoyable time.

Yesterday marked 5 years since I came up here (alone! How in the world was I brave enough to do that? Craziness!) to meet the guy I had been noting and chatting on yahoo messenger to for many months. To celebrate, we went to the restaurant downstairs for lunchy-goodness. (I looked back to see when I wrote an entry saying we had our first date, which was there. October 1st, which if we want to count that anniversary, we have 4 anniversaries, all 2 days apart. That’s truly an anniversary week!)

All the tables had gorgeous tiny fake pumpkins stuffed with other ‘fall’-ish items (pictured above.) We couldn’t get the corner booth we sat at all those years ago, so we took a table on the other side of the place, both facing the room. Our friend Kerry served us (I got a hug because she had missed us. I love hugs!) and of course, I had my usual. Turkey reuben and a large orange juice. Jake had a chilli dog with a crock of chilli for extra chilli awesomeness. I dunked all my potato chips and quite a few of Jake’s fries in that chilli. Mmm. And my sandwich when the bites were lacking turkey. Yum yum yum.

As we were leaving, Kerry said "Bye Sezzie!" which really really made me happy. Other than Jake, no one here calls me Sez or Sezzie. Everyone at home does, people on the internet do, but here… I’m Sarah and that’s weird to me (less weird than it was at first…but still). So it made me very smiley to be called that.

We had ‘fauxsotto’ for dinner, although this time it came out more like fried rice. Still really awesome. Rice with lots of little veggies in it, topped with a breaded chicken breast. And then dessert was chocolate icecream which we each topped with a chopped up mini cherry ripe bar. Mmm.

Today we headed over to the mall, so we could get Jake the strategy guide for his anniversary-present-game. We tried to get one yesterday at Kmart, but they didn’t have any. The guy we asked looked at us like we were crazy for wanting one when you can just search online for stuff. Jake needs to be able to constantly check and recheck as he’s playing though, and I’m usually on the one-and-only comp if he’s gaming. Thankfully Gamestop are good and had what we needed. On the way out, we went JC Penney where I spotted some tshirts that are absolutely perfect for brother christmas presents. I’m so glad I spotted them, because there was only 2 of each and so they wouldn’t have lasted long.

Unlike yesterday’s disgustingly humid weather, today is lovely and cool so we’ve having soup for dinner. With pasta and beans in it. Mmm, that’s gonna be so tasty. (Mmm, I can’t wait to eat that monkey)

Hope you are all having a lovely time.
