My Daddy leaves tomorrow

Oops, it has been more than a week since I wrote! Bugger. My Dad is still here, until tomorrow. So what have we been up to? Lots.

We have gone out for dinner almost every second day. Last Tuesday we went to Maggie McFlys, which I think I wrote about. Thursday we went to Senor Panchos. Ashley was in the middle of a 4-day long "I will not be anywhere without my mummy" thing, so I had to have her sitting on my lap hugging me while I ate my fajitas. She was a good girl, calm and not wiggly, although at one point people were being seated at the table next to us and Ashley poked the lady’s butt. The lady was fine with it as soon as she realized a tiny little kid did it. That’s what she gets for putting her bum there (I think Ash was interested by the pattern on the back pocket of the jeans the lady was wearing. She pokes my jeans for the same reason). Ash got a balloon from the restaurant, which she loved playing with once we got home.

On Saturday we went to Red Robin for late lunch/early dinner. SO GOOD. I LOVE that place. Of course, I don’t think I have ever ordered something different, I always get the bbq chicken burger (I know it is called a sandwich but… it’s a burger) and it is just… too good. Yum. Ash was happy to sit in her high chair while I ate so that was even better. After we ate we went to Best Buy next door and… my Dad bought us a new computer. And a new monitor (that is massive, too massive I think. I feel like I’m getting blinded, must work out how to make it less bright! I was outnumbered, the men agreed with each other that bigger is better, that’s why we got this one). I’m still confused by Windows 8, and it has a way of being a bit like Windows 7 but our last computer had XP on it so even that has a bit of a learning curve. Today was the first time I’ve had some dedicated playing-with-the-computer time so maybe that’s why I …. arh I can’t think I’m getting blinded and getting a headache. BAH!

On days we don’t go to a restaurant for dinner, we have lunch at the restaurant downstairs. Ashley loves it so much, today she actually walked up the steps into the restaurant then ran in to greet Kerry. There are still a few plastic eggs left over from Easter decorations and Kerry hides them for Ash. It’s great because we eat at a time when there aren’t really other customers so it doesn’t matter that Ashley is distracting the waitresses from their work.

On Monday, Dad and I (and Ash) went to Staples. On Tuesday we went to the mall to get Ash some new clothes. We got her 2 sets of pjs and a new sun hat.

Tuesday evening was a trip to the Italian place down the street, so we all had pizza which meant we had pizza for leftovers tonight. WOO.

I finally got my files on this computer today, but I haven’t sorted them out into places that make sense with this new computer. I have some photos of Ash and Dad being cute so I’ll have to get those up when I can.

Ash ADORES her Grandpa Petie. She points at him in her "I love you" way, she’s always giving him toys and things, she loves watching him play on his ipad. It’s like me playing on my phone, but bigger!

This evening after dinner we were going to go grocery shopping (I was going to take advantage of Dad being here and get him to buy our groceries for the next 2 weeks, like I’ve been told to do) but we get in the car (and that take a few minutes) and then… it won’t turn over. Damn thing. Jake’s brother suspects the battery, and he worked with cars for a while so I trust that judgement. So hopefully that means an easy fix quick and early tomorrow. Although I don’t think we’ll get to go grocery shopping the ‘cheap’ way, but having a working car is more important than that.

Tomorrow just after midday Ash and I have to take my Dad to the hotel the family stayed at when they came as a group. The shuttle to the airport stops there. I don’t want my Dad to go home. I’ve had such an awesome time with him here, even if the majority of the time we’ve just been sitting around, either playing with Ashley or playing hanging/phrases with friends on our devices. It is fun playing with someone sitting next to you, rather than on the other side of the world where you don’t have the same playing time so games take AGES to finish.

And to finish, weather. The last few days we have had the windows open, even at night! 5 nights ago (I think) we had the heater on overnight because it was so bloody cold. It was a real shock. Tuesday actually felt like a summer day, and it was a real shock to the system. Monday night Ash took 2.5 hours to go to sleep, I think because the windows were open and so there was noise, and it was a nice temperature. She just wanted to play, not sleep. The same thing happened at nap time on Tuesday. Thankfully she was fine by Tuesday bedtime. I don’t know what was up with her, but it was exhausting and I’m glad Dad was here to play with her while I zombied out on the couch.

It has been a very relaxing time and that is what I wanted and needed. Ashley is so adorable and the other day when she was leaning all over me to watch me playing it was so adorable. Our walks and playing in the grass and waving to the cars has been fun. Thanks for a great holiday. I love you very much (almost as much as I love Ashley. Ha ha :-). ) thanks again for a great time. I thought I read that you got pizza from an Indian place. I was so confused.

That time has gone quickly. The shuttle sounds like a good idea. I should do that next time I come over. I hope you get the car fixed easily. Sounds like a dead battery to me too. *giant hugs*
