My accent appears via ozmosis

Giant computer screen that I can’t look at properly! This place is crazy. I never thought our computer screen was small but MAN the ones here are insane. And I have to know my passwords again (yargh). I knew our tv was small, so that is ok.

So, yeah, guess what? We’re here! Woo! Well, we’ve been here for about 4 hours now, but I was having password issues (mostly that for some reason this one was weirdly different yet similar to my other passwords…all fixed now though) and now those issues are gone I am having hayfever issues. Oh yeah, so that’s fun. Woo, many sneezes! Or something.

So, the trip. Well I wrote at 12:08 yesterday, and then went straight to the bathroom to gather things and as soon I as I walked in, Russ called up the stairs that he was there. So that was good. It was so lovely of him to come over (he wasn’t working that day) just to give us a ride. He took us to the hotel, where the limo-shuttle-bus thing appeared 2 minutes later, 10 minutes earlier than it was meant to be. So that was also woot. And then we were at the airport at… 2:30. When our flight was at 6:40. So that was fun. But after waiting to check in, and then being sent to go purchase a visa for Jake, and then going back and waiting in an even bigger line to get our second ticket (dude was holding them until we got the visa)…

Natey is awesome, by the way. I just told him to suck and so he made a weird face and a sucking noise. Which is probably what I do in that situation, but Jake never says that, only I do, so I don’t know. But yeah, Natey has tiny little head hairs and rather long chin hairs and it keeps making me giggle. Jake and I were discussing at the airport, if you shaved Natey and I, we would probably be identical. Dam close, at least.

…an hour had passed. At least. And then did the bit where you have to take shoes off, and then wandered around and found a smoothie place, which is awesome as we have a tradition of getting smoothies while at the airport waiting for our flights. I had one called "light n’ fluffy" and it was orange banana and strawberry and it was reaallllllyyyy good. Jake had something that had many berries in it and it was way very berry. Then we wandered around looking at the stores, but I had to quickly turn around as I found the terminal from when I was there last time, and just recognizing it made me almost cry. I got away before I actually did though, so that was good. Plus, I had a Jake and he is awesome.

Then we went and sat at the gate for 2 and a half hours. Which actually went by REALLY quickly. Maybe because we were having fun looking at all the people. Once on the plane, we were extra amused because all the people sitting around us at the gate had seats right around us. Woo, weirdness!

We watched Stepbrothers, and then I watched Tropic Thunder. Stepbrothers was good and enjoyable, if not a bit hard to hear. Not the movie’s fault though, I could only hear through one side of the headphones. Really screwy, that was. Tropic Thunder was a good airplane movie. Entertaining enough when you have nothing else to do. Our meals were a choice of beef ster thing or cheese ravioli in a cream sauce, so I ate beef. Well, mostly I just dunked my roll in the beefy juicy sauceness. Which man, that sounds weird.

Landed in LAX at about… I have no idea. Late. I think it was 9:30 LA time so midnight:30 at home? Who knows. I do remember commenting that it did not feel like 1am. We had to go SO FAR to get from the gate we landed at to the gate we were boarding at. We walked off, turned left, got on the moving walkway, got back to normal ground, and were there. Of course, after all the worry I had that we wouldn’t be assisted and I would get lost or something. So that was awesome. We were seated at the gate near this couple who… well… the man looked like a thinner Santa. Which amused me, and I later found out amused Jake too. They were the people next to us on the plane as well, which was extra amusing. Lovely people, the lady was very considerate and kept asking if she was in my way or crowding me or whatever. Very nice.

We watched The Dark Knight, which Jake fell asleep during and I fell asleep during the last 5 minutes. I found sleep for the last hour, but I think it was about 4am for our bodies by this time. Dinner was gross chicken thing, very bland and icky. So when breakfast happened about 8 hours later, man I was ravenous. And got to eat the world’s smallest box of cereal. Jake’s tv remote wasn’t working so he couldn’t watch any more movies. We were going to watch Hancock together but couldn’t, so I watched Space Chimps, which was silly and amusing.

I actually slept on the flight, and sitting upright too! Which really amused me when I realised. Normally I have to curl up in a little ball on the seat but I think my knees know I am too old for that now.

We landed at 9:40am, were out of customs and baggage check and stuff rather quick, got home quick, it was awesome. Especially because we both felt disgusting (Jake was mega stinky, we couldn’t find his deodorant the morning we were leaving!) so we got to have a shower. We have a bed that is two single beds pushed together, with towels and even a tissue box in between the divide so there can’t be laying on uncomfortable wood bits.

We also have a Jelly, who is one of those creepy clear fish things with legs. I forget the name now. He’s cute. We saw Headbutt, but I squealed KITTY!! when I saw him so he ran away and went outside and hasn’t been back. Silly kitty. Mum has taken us grocery shopping, where we got many sorts of juices, and Jake can now try a passionfruit. We also got him an apricot because he had never had a fresh one, but that went missing.

I believe we are having nando’s for dinner. Woo!

My claritin seems to have kicked in, which is awesome, because they never used to work like this even at full strength. I hope it stays like this for the whole 6 weeks. Even if it doesn’t, this being here is so very very awesome. So much fun things to do. Mostly just enjoy being here again. I can’t believe it has been 2 years. Certainly doesn’t feel like it. In fact, it feels like I’ve only been gone about 6 weeks. I would believe that if it weren’t for the massive amounts of things that have been constructed since I left.

Woo! Home! Woo! Big entry! Woo! Hello! You all get a cookie for reading all this 😀

title: Being around aussies makes me lose part of my american accent. Which is the majority accent when in the states. Jake said my title, and took about 5 minutes to realise why I was laughing. I think I might have had to write it down for him before he realised. Silly man.

Have you investigated the re-developed wigglies yet? They’re weird. Many additional obstacles to the KFC journey.
