More than a potato this time.
I don’t know why, but we can never just go out to get petrol. We always end up going to do something and getting petrol on the way. I guess it might be because I don’t like doing it, so Jake does it, but he doesn’t drive so I have to drive, which means putting Ashley in her car seat, so we may as well make the most of it…
Today we went to the mall. It was a pretty successful trip. We went to get Jake his christmas present early (new work shoes – he wears sketchers shape ups. His previous pair were apparently specifically designed for restaurant work, so standing on your feet all day, and he loved them, but they didn’t have them this time so he got regular ones. Hopefully they feel just as good, even though they were half price they were expensive), as well as a small gift that can be from me or anyone who needs a gift for Jake. When we saw it, he thought I was crazy asking if he wanted it, because he had forgotten christmas is coming and therefore thought I was just going to ‘waste money’ buying him a random gift. Aah, what a cutie with his short term memory problems. And finally, we got a wooden board for carving the turkey on. We looked in so many places and they all had realy pathetic small drip borders, until we found one at the last store of the day! It has a picture of a cartoon turkey on it, and random turkey-cooking-related info on it, but I don’t care about that. It was cheap and it was what I wanted. So that’s something out of the way for next year.
This morning. Jake put Ash in the crib for a minute while he went to the bathroom. From the bed I watched her roll over, grab the bars, and pull to a stand. Which meant I had to then lower the mattress so that next time she does that, the top of the crib isn’t below her chest. It seems to weird, having to bend down so far to get Ash into her bed. I knew that was going to happen at some point, so it is good that it is done with now.
This morning, Ashley proper crawled. Not far, and it was slow, but she did it. I had said to Lisa last Monday that I would be surprised if Ashley wasn’t crawling by the weekend, so I was… kind of right.
Ah, so many baby-skills, with the standing and the crawling and all… Isaac has just started rolling over. NoNoMo update: My face hurts! Because dentist. Is that an update?

Clever girl. Just as well you saw it and can do something to stop Ashley falling out of bed.
