Monstrous banana pudding pile!

This afternoon I sent Jake downstairs with a letter to our landlord, just letting him know our upstairs door doesn’t shut and I’d like it fixed soon. Less than 2 hours later, we had a completely functional door again (along with the storm door that hasn’t been able to shut for years)! So that was fantastic. And because Russ himself came up here to fix that, I could show him all the double windows with ice between them, so once everything thaws that might be able to be fixed too. And and, they even removed the massive piles of ice on the stairs that w couldn’t break. Awesome.

Jake and I went outside to try and move the car tonight. Because the parking lot is slightly downwardly sloped, under the car is just one thick slick sheet of ice. We threw down a huge amount of salt and hopefully will be able to get the car out tomorrow morning. There was no way I was even going to attempt to get out of there tonight, even with an empty parking lot. Fingers crossed for success tomorrow, I’m really looking forward to our little date day we have planned. But even if we can’t go out tomorrow, chili day is still going ahead, and I am probably 20 times more excited for that. I don’t think anyone has ever been more excited to make chili. I feel almost silly, but I don’t care.

I’m exhausted right now but I’m waiting for Jake to finish a survey before we can go to bed. It would be nice if I could sleep with the clacking of the keyboard, but I can’t. At least not here. At oz-home, it’s pretty easy. But there, the computer is further away from the bed.

Goodnight all. I hope you are doing well, and perhaps making chocolate fudge with butterscotch bits in it. If you are doing that, send me the recipe Mmm.

I had this really weird dream last night that you made a bunch of spritz cookies and used them to spell out “I’m pregnant!” I think I spent too much time on OD.

Chocolate fudge with butterscotch? Oh man…I wish! Very efficient of your landlord, he sounds pretty cool.

Ummmm, that sounds delightful! Yay for an awesome landlord! It’s nice that he doesn’t ignore your issues. ~jo

That was good of Russ to come up and fix things so quickly. What is a storm door and where is it? I hope you can move the car but your date day could wait if you can’t move it. Ew, chocolate fudge….

now i want chocolate fudge. i think that’s the pms talking, though. 🙂

i’m not making chocolate fudge. i’m planning on making chocolate tarts, and lemon tarts, and a focaccia-type bread with potato and prosciutto topping… and mum and i made raspberry and white chocolate mousse last night that i get to eat today because it took too long to set for it to be dessert. *nods*
