Monkey potatoes
I know I will probably be saying this for a few more days, and you are probably all sick of it and don’t care anymore, but I won’t be writing the trip-summary today. I’ve been busy doing other things, like making dinner (and accepting stupid amounts of gifts on facebook… the gift counter doesn’t go above 100 so I have no idea how many there are still to go…)
This afternoon Jake and I went out with Natey and Claire with the intentions of getting lunch. The shopping centre was closed though, so instead we ended up at a car wash. HoJu didn’t get very clean, but he was excessively dirty (and covered in locusts) so it was still good. He now smells slightly like pina colada too, which is amusing. KFC was thankfully open, so we ate there afterwards.
For dinner tonight, I made curry chicken pot pie. Jake helped in the most awesome way – he removed the meat from the chicken bones and chopped it up. I hate having to deal with meat on bones, so it was very good for me. I made a small vegetarian version for Claire, I don’t know if she enjoyed it but I’m hoping so.
Tomorrow we have afternoon plans with Ellen, so that should be nice and fun and such.
Now that it is 2011, I hate that I have to go home soon. I like things there, like not living out of a suitcase, and not getting allergies all the time, and such… but it would just be nice if I could have those things AND have my family and friends close by. Bah.
I’ve also managed to mess up my knee somehow, so I feel like I am walking around like I am much older than I am. Such fun.
I love where you live too, and wish it were closer to here. Time has gone very quickly. I really enjoyed the dinner tonight. Thanks for cooking it.

Happy New year dear Sarah. I wish you could be nearer to your family and friends as well. Perhaps we could shrink the world at least just when you want to see your family. I will work on that. Love you

i don’t have to go as far, obviously, but it still sucks having to take a plane to see your family. i went and read the recipe for the curry chicken pot pie..it sounds yummy! what did you put in to make the vegetarian version?

Chicken Pot pie rules especially when cooked by Sez and Jake. It has been great you two being around, it seems normal rather than something special and it will be sad when you go but you do have a lovely place (and lovely people) to go “home” to. I am looking forward to visiting you soon. Love you very, very much.
