Mini-giving
Tomorrow marks 5 months since the cats arrived in this apartment and made our lives so much fluffier (and stinkier and cuter and grosser and snugglier)… and tomorrow is the day that we stop being foster cat-parents. Their real ‘mum’ Katey, moved into her new, cat-friendly place on Saturday, so now she will be coming by to reclaim her babies. I can think of so many ways this is a great thing, but I love them so much and I don’t want them to leave! It really sucks that tonight is a hot night, I wanted to sleep with a blanket on because then the cats snuggle up to me all night, and that is totally what I need for their last night here.
In slightly better, way tastier news, we did a mini thanksgiving for dinner tonight. I originally wanted some sort of roast meat with veggies, and that evolved into roast turkey (just the breast half) with roast carrots/purple potatoes/butternut squash, cranberry sauce (from a can, we looked EVERYWHERE and couldn’t find frozen cranberries, grrr…at least we got whole berry can sauce but it wasn’t as good as mine), and of course… the best part of any meal ever… stuffing loaf. The secret to stuffing loaf is its simplicity – it is bread crumbs (fresh made), onion and bacon, with egg and milk as a binder, and some herbs. But it is pretty much purely bacon and onion. So good, we all ate a slice or so of stuffing loaf after we were done with the rest. The turkey was perfectly done, not dry at all even though it got rather overcooked accidentally. The veggies were prety good too, although I’ll probably like them more once we are out of stuffing. Ellen took many pictures (again, not one of the whole bird before carving, being all attractive and delicious) so I’ll have to steal them and post when I’m not on my phone.
And with that I’m going to roll over and go to sleep with a pillow pressed against my pregnant belly because it is the only way to not feel belly-weird while I sleep. I bid you good night!
I’ve been considering celebrating it here too just so I have an excuse to make turkey, and pumpkin pie. XD

There’s 3 kitties yes? Could you just keep one and maybe she wouldn’t notice?…

Mmmm Thanksgiving. My mom and I are the only people I know that prefer the canned cranberry sauce to the regular kind.

Yummy mini-giving. Pictures will be good. Sorry the kitties are going, but with a baby on the way it is better that they go back to their real ‘mum’. Maybe you can visit a bit until you get used to them being away. Good that Ellen is still there to help keep you company. *giant squeezy hugs*

Sorry to hear the cats are going. It did seem like you really enjoyed them. You’re a good friend to babysit them for so long.
