Mess is better.

Ashley is better now. She had a fever for 2 days, poor girl. I called the doctor’s office Friday at lunch and they confirmed that I was doing everything right and said if she got worse, or was still the same in 48 hours to call back. When I took her temp at 12 on Friday it said 101.6F. It also told Jake he was 96 and I was 97.4. So who knows if the thing is accurate or what. I always mean to see what it says when she is healthy but it takes so damn long and makes her cry and ugh… anyway. When I took her temp at 5 on Saturday, she was 99.0F. So that was nice to see, although I already knew she was feeling cooler.

There were lots of baths, lots and LOTS of boob, and lots of lazing about on the couch. So we tried to make up for that laziness this weekend.

Saturday morning we went to Walt’s nice and early. As soon as we walked in, the big guy in the barber chair laughed which scared Ashley, so us girls wandered around outside looking at the flowers. It was nice to see her willingly moving around. She was so non-wanting to do things so for 2 days we did not have to tidy up all the toys and books and things on the floor, everything stayed in its place. Very weird. Anyway, after a bit I convinced her we should go back in and wait with Daddy. Which was all fine and good, until it was Jake’s turn. You’d think I wasn’t there, she was crying and crying for Daddy. So back outside we went. We ended up in the car, her sitting in the front passenger seat, touching all the buttons on the cd player and such. So many buttons. A sweet old lady pulled up next to us, because she was taking her dog to get groomed at the store next to the barber shop. She brought her dog over to say hi to Ashley. It was such a cute little dog, and it really made my girl’s day to see a puppy.

This morning we went for a nice long walk to the hardware store. The stroller fit, only just. I really should have left Jake and Ashley outside, he was struggling to move her about. We only got the glue we needed, not the tape and nails, but the glue was important. One of the feet that prop up the keyboard had broken and so it was annoying to use. Now all is well. AND I finally fixed her owl toy that has been broken for what feels like a million years. Yay, glue!

On the way home, we sort of promised Ash that when we got home, we’d play in the pool. So we get home and the grass is being mowed, so the pool has been emptied and we have to wait to pool it up. Poor girl was pretty sad, but she got a much longer pool time after nap so all was well eventually.

We are going to Ikea with Kristen and Lisa on Wednesday and I’m really excited. I love Ikea. Wish I could buy lots of stuff but it is nice to just go and dream.

I love Ikea too 🙂 My temp always reads between 96 and 97, so it may be fine. When it reads 99, I’m sick. I’ve never had a normal body temp. haha

I’m so glad Ashley is better. It’s awful when your kids are sick, isn’t it. The hardware store is clearly not wheelchair friendly then….. Whoot!! Ikea. I got some more dots for under chairs when I went last. They are great for letting chairs move better. I also got a two-sided mirror on a stand. One side is magnifying. Good for putting on my make-up when Peter is in the bathroom and I need another mirror. *giant hugs*
