Like a pan, hot and flat.
Yesterday was a busy day of busyness and many excursions. Well, 2, but that’s many!
The first ‘trip’ of the day was to a local farmer’s market. It was at least twice as big as the one we go to at home, but kind of more crap. There were very few stalls selling fresh veggies and stuff, most of it was other things. Like cured meat, or cheese, or jam, or cake… we got cake. Natey wanted banana cake and because it was cheaper to buy 2, I had to pick out another flavour. So I got ‘nutty carrot’ that I am hoping is not too nutty. As long as it tastes mostly carroty, I can handle eating some walnuts (assuming they are walnuts… which they better be). Jake got a little circle of camembert and some proper turkish delight because he is odd and enjoys eating things that taste like flowers.
Cake stall with amusing name, and Natey’s head.
Of course, I was rather amused that we bought two small loaves of cake because we already had cake at home. White chocolate mud cake that mum bought for me because she knows how much I love it. It’s not very muddy though, but still very tasty. I just had it for breakfast. Best part about being on holidays is cake for breakfast.
It was stupidly hot yesterday. Natey told me it was going to get to 24 but really it got to at least 30. So I was dying in my marmer’s farket outfit. Had to change into something very cool when we got home.
Once we were home from cake-purchasing fun, Ellen came and whisked us away for delicious lunch and so we could see her place.
We went to La Porchetta’s, which is an awesome place for pizza. Especially bbq chicken pizza (that is only called a chicken pizza… but the bbq sauce is essential to it’s awesome) which is what we all shared. The large we got was the size of the medium pizza Jake and I split and completely devoured the night before we came down here. But that just meant there was more room for dessert. Of banana splits. That we made ourselves, rather than go to an awesome banana split place. We had this odd ‘chocolate mousse… dessert inspired icecream’ and it really was just really cold chocolate mousse. It was awesome. We ate the tasty sitting on a nice comfy blue couch at Ellen’s place and watched a couple ‘episodes’ of a little 3 minute cartoon from our childhood. Very brain-sticky theme song.
Awesome, awesome time. I love hanging out with Ellen. Even when she doesn’t give me socks, which she did. Birthday presents. Awesome ones. One pair has little cow heads that sit near the ankles, another is completely covered in polka dots, and the third I think is meant to be a purple ladybug but you can’t really see it’s spots very much so it also kind of looks like a purple catfish. There are eyes and antennae (or whiskers, if it is a catfish) on the toe-region. Awesome socks. I love socks. And I love my Ellen, the bringer of socks. heh
I also got a lovely picture of Ellen and Jake together, the two adorables that I spent the afternoon with. Ah, good times.
I don’t know what today is going to be. At some point this week I have to go shopping for my OD KK, but I don’t know if that will be today or another day. Ah, it’s nice to have nothing important to do.
Title: Ellen said she would "see how it pans out" and then cracke dherself up saying my title. And then she blamed the silliness on ME! Mmm, good blame.
Yayayay. Sounds like you’re having so much fun. Got to 40 yesterday in SA :/

you said ‘like a pan’ therefore the silliness IS your fault 😀

Great photos. Great socks. Great friends. I have a feeling that the farmer’s market restricts the types of stalls by getting people to register and if there is competition maybe disallowing the newcomer. So people with different stalls get priority. Two cake stalls though. Not local either, with people from Mornington Peninsula selling cheese.

Duuuuude! Jake’s Animal t-shirt is awesomeness! I thought Ellen was in the UK somewhere? Didn’t you go visit her in Ireland or something? Am I all confoozled? ~jo
