Kissing magnet puppies
I am so tired. My muscles are so tense, mostly in my legs, especially in my bum/hip area. I’m still hungry but there really isn’t anything for me to eat, nothing that doesn’t involve cooking especially.
Today we went to New London. Well, first we went to Norwich which is where the spa Lisa works is located. My GPS, the fucking cocksucking dickweasel that it apparently is, did not find a signal the entire trip there. So I had to guess how to get to the spa. I took the wrong exit (I was only 1 off!) and so by the time we had contacted Lisa for directions (which was pretty much turn left, turn left, it will be on your left) I was stressed, confused, lost and crying (oh no wait, I didn’t cry until we got to the spa and there were NO PARKS). Stupid stupid GPS, what is the point of you if you don’t tell me how to get places?!
So we were a little late for the party, but it turned out to be a good thing because it was LOUD and HOT and I didn’t like being there for as long as we were there so I’m glad we cut our time there by 10 minutes. Ashley got changed once we were there, into a beautiful deep blue dress with glitter all over it. She was such a little princess! She was also the first kid called up to visit Santa and get a gift. She didn’t mind Santa at all, which was awesome. I got some crappy pictures, hopefully the professional pic that Lisa will get eventually will be nice.
Oh, did I mention I was starving? We have no food in the apartment, so I hadn’t had lunch. Lie, I had the last mini eclair for lunch. But that isn’t food.
Kristen and Matt showed up at about 3, so then we all went to Ninety Nine’s for lunch/dinner. I had chicken tenders but MAN were they awesomely tasty! Plus, there was so much that I got to take some home and eat them for dinner 2.
Ashley’s present from Santa was… this annoying singing cookie jar. Ok, it is cute and kinda cool with the magic sensor when you stick your hand in, but ugh, singing things bug me. I don’t mind Ashley making noise, or playing with instruments, but things that just sing like that really bug me. So that is a toy that stays at Grandma and Grandpa’s place.
We didn’t leave Lisa’s place until almost 9, which was really late. That is why I’m still up at almost midnight! (Well, that and the fact it took 3 tries to get Ash into her crib. I told Jake if the 3rd time failed, she was going to sleep in the bed for a while so I could write and have a drink so I wouldn’t starve to death.)
Driving today really sucked. First, stupid GPS. Then driving from the restaurant to Lisa’s place, we were in a convoy and we were last of the 3 cars. Every so often, some dick would pull in between my and Kristen’s cars, and then I couldn’t see the people I was meant to be following. And then on the way home, loads of rain and LOTS of fog. Most of the drive I had to watch the line on the road, about 3 dashes ahead of us, because I couldn’t see any further. And I-84 had some sort of stupid road that was SO SHINY so not only couldn’t I see the lines through the fog and rain, but the wet road hid all the lines AND the street lights were shining off the road. That was fun. Once we were almost home and heading down the hill just nearby, the fog was so thick I could see the headlight streams of light reflecting. Stupid weather. The good thing is, I am so happy that Tuesday I don’t have to worry about being in charge of the vehicles at all, I just have to be a passenger. That is way easier.
I have to go to bed. I hope Ash gives me a good few hours so I can sleep and relax and my muscles and loosen a bit.
*HUGGLES* Driving is frustrating. Driving and not knowing exactly where to go is extra specially so. Driving and not being able to SEE where you’re going is scarily unpleasant. I didn’t do much today, but was somehow semi-productive in that I sent an email about uni enrolment, got quotes for travel insurance, found my 2nd travel money card, and made quite tasty new chicken recipe for dinner *nods*

And I talked to Johanna on the phone twice, and read about 50 pages of a new book. I guess all up that’s actually a reasonable amount to have done with my day, it just it feels like not much because most of it was done while sitting on the couch…

Why did the GPS not work? I thought it was a good GPS. I’m glad you managed to drive safely in the appalling conditions. And darn, I’m going to have to return all the singing toys I have bought. I thought they were so cute. 🙂 *hugs*
