…is it illegal to wake a baby?

It’s been a while since we had those annoying skateboarding/bike riding kids making noises outside our bedroom window. In fact, a few weeks, since we called the police. They walked by last Sunday when we were doing Thanksgiving, I happened to see one of them when I was in the kitchen and he looked scared that I saw him. Anyway, they were back tonight. Told them (nicely) to go away as they were waking the baby, and that I would call the police if they didn’t leave. One of them said my title, and then they left. I think they must live only a few houses down, because they were back, minus ‘vehicles’ and they just sat on the curb yelling BABY! BABY! WAA WAA WAA! Police were called, they came by, a few times actually, but the damn kids would hide and then come back out to be annoying. Poor sweet Ashley was woken up so many times, she is finally asleep in her crib now, 2 hours after her bedtime. The good thing about these idiots being so young (12-13 is my guess) is that they must have a curfew because they disappear after a while. Hopefully while we are gone for christmas, they try to do this and will get no response and then give up for good. That would be AWESOME.

In other news…

Ashley is so so close to crawling. SO CLOSE. She gets in the position, moves one leg, and thinks about moving the second and gives up and sits down instead. Even though she can’t crawl, she can move, and fast. Today’s fun game was going all over the apartment, finding anything that can be pulled out of boxes or off shelves, and throwing it all on the floor. She picked up each toy out of her toy chest individually, and then spread them around her before moving on to the bookshelf. She also was big on standing up wherever she could. I don’t know if I mentioned it the other day, but her Dr (we’ll call her Dr Ham) said she’ll most likely be walking by the time we get back from Australia.

One day, when I have a little bit more time in the evening, I’ll share pictures. I have so many cute ones from the last few days.

Next time I wouldn’t warn them. I would call the police and say, “I’ve called the police about these kids a few times but every time a squad car comes by they hide and then come back out and start again.” This way maybe they would managed to send them more discretely. If an officer called me to pick up my kid you KNOW they wouldn’t be leaving the house for a LONG TIME!

I wonder if whatever she’s doing would be called crawling anyway. There’s so many “forms” or positions of crawling I think it counts if they can move around intentionally 😀

That would be kind of amazing if Ashley learned to walk in Australia. Also… jerk kids are jerks. NoNoMo update: I played softball today, and I was actually quite good at it, which doesn’t happen that often.

Wow, what brats. :/ Would it be easy to figure out where one/all of them lives and let their parents know what’s up?

Or maybe send Jake downstairs to tell them off. That should scare the shit out of them at least for a bit.

I think you’re onto the answer here with no reaction. If you can somehow resist the urge to tell the kids off, make a discrete call to the police I think you might solve the problem. I know how annoying it is though when you just want your baby to sleep though, believe me!

GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr kids are stupid. Love what parents are raising! I just keep hoping that I can raise Violet to not be a raging moron who disrespects others so much! Violet drags her one leg while crawling. She kind of looks like she’s swimming – it kind of cracks me up. I love how babies all crawl so different! Maybe Ash will just give up and stand up and walk away instead 😉

Don’t speak to the kids would be my suggestion.

It’s not illegal, but it sure is irritating, I bet! :/
