I miss the obvious pineapples.

This afternoon we decided to stop watching Psych and to watch NCIS while eating lunch, because it’s easier to eat in the lounge room than in Natey’s room where we were before that. Once food was gone, there was still 20 minutes on NCIS. I suggested to Natey that we go watch Psych because we’ve seen that episode of NCIS a million times. His response was "I’ve seen you a million times and I’m not sick of you" said in such a way that it took me a little bit to realise he said something sweet.

While prepping dinner, Matty cut himself instead of the chicken. After bandaiding his thumb, he refused to apply pressure because ‘the bleeding will stop eventually’… so I grabbed his thumb and squeezed it. He mad eme do a thumbs up with the hand holding his and said "look Jake, a double thumbs up!" and unfortunately I didn’t get a picture but it was pretty amusing looking.

This evening, like every Friday night, Mum and Nanna are chatting on the phone. Mum called me out so I could talk to Nanna for a little bit. I don’t really remember what Nanna was saying because I was too busy trying not to burst out laughing. Mum was matching around, pretending to blow a trumpet and lift some weights, and other generally odd mime things.

I do remember one thing Nanna said, at the start of the convo. She asked me where my American accent was. So, I’m glad it has already gone away. I have noticed that today I am sounding rather more Australian than usual, which is lovely. And weird, that I can hear it.

If you are speaking to Jake you tend to sound more American. I think you have a tofu accent – it absorbs the sounds around you.

Australian accents trump American ones any day 😀

You’re pretty lucky, I think, that your accent is so adaptable. I had a British friend whose accent was so distinct among Americans that most people couldn’t undertand him over the phone, but he said that when he would go back to England, his British friends said he sounded too American. He would have been better off if he never spoke and just wrote everything down.

RYN: Well I don’t know if it’s disappointing as such, a lot of people love it, I just can’t control 3rd person shooters with a joypad anymore, much too used to a mouse! (PC). My friend Carrie is an XBOX gamer though and she had no problem! 😛
