I extrapolated!

Yesterday in the stupidly-early hours of the morning, I woke up dying of thirst. I had to get up a couple of times to refill my cup of water, and of course each time I got up I had to pee (seemed kind of counter-productive) which would wake me up even more. By the time I wasn’t thirsty anymore, a lot of time had passed, and I was shiveringly cold because all the water had come from the fridge.

So that was a fun way to start the day. Even though I eventually got back to sleep, I felt like I didn’t sleep at all, so all day it was difficult to do anything other than sitting and… that’s about it. I did muster up enough standing strength to chop an onion and some garlic, so I made some Petie Pasta Sauce. Delicious stuff, and now we have 4 servings of tasty to sit in the freezer. I love having homemade sauce in the freezer, that way when we feel like being lazy and having pasta for dinner, it feels like it took a while to make because we didn’t just crack open a jar of red goo.

Today was much better, at least in terms of energy. The restaurant was super-busy, so Jake didn’t come up here on his lunch break, just ate and went straight back to work. That meant I didn’t get to see him until 4pm (he leaves before I get up in the morning, sometimes I am aware enough that I remember him kissing me goodbye when I do wake, sometimes I have no clue), which just sucks.

My day consisted of making more gingerbread dough (I need some cookies a part of a gift! Plus we need more), cleaning random things, doing the dishes multiple times (normal and then baking-related), and some baby-related things. Finally got around to hand-washing the sling I’ve had for months, it did smell terrible but hopefully doesn’t anymore. I also cleaned the changing table and put appropriate things in the drawers (previously I was using it as a baby-stuff catch-all, and the top was covered in my clothes). I still have to wash all her linens (oh how I wish I didn’t have to go to a laundromat for that!) but they are in drawers now instead of paper bags and a plastic box. If I had more time, I would have emptied the bookshelf and moved it to the other side of the room, to make space for the crib. That will have to be an activity for another day, as well as getting some unused stuff out of other drawers and into big ziplock bags to keep under the bed. It’s frustrating that we don’t have a lot of space, but a lot of fun at the same time. I love making stuff fit in comfortable way, playing ‘life tetris’ as it could be called. I’m pretty good at it too.

We have nothing we have to do this weekend, outside of the home. Well, we have to go to the post office, but that is a 3 minute walk if that, so that doesn’t count. We have 2 things to bake, but that is fun. We are actually doing family christmas ON christmas, so that’s pretty awesome and shall be fun.

Hope you’re having a fantastic Christmas. It’s currently 9.52pm here and Christmas is almost over RYN: I would love 6 degrees for Christmas! It ended up only being 27 here, but it was very humid so that made it worse.

Merry Christmas! I love cooking, and people I’m friends with usually know how to cook well too so I guess since you’re such a good cook… we can be friends! lol jk anyway tell jake he’s pretty awesome and feel free to tell yourself that too sometimes and mean it. Cheers. 🙂 Happy Hannukah! 😛
