I don’t like mondays, they smell like cabbage
They really do, you know. Downstairs in the restaurant they have a different ‘dinner’ available in the afternoons and on Monday that meal is corned beef and cabbage. And so the scent of cabbage wafts up her and hangs around for hours. If only I was as weird as my husband and actually ENJOYED the smell.
I really had fun this weekend, I love staying up all night. I’m surprised how easy it was for me. I used to stay up all Saturday night, and even on weekdays I wouldn’t go to bed until about 4:30am… but that was years ago, when Jake and I only had the internet to communicate through. He would wake up and it would be about 11pm for me and we would talk until it was 4:30am for me (and I would go to bed because mum would get up soon after and I didn’t want to have her tsk tsk at me) then I would get up at about 9-9:30 to talk to him in the evening, until about midday or 1pm when he would go to bed. And then on Saturdays the only computer with internet would have people using it all day, so I would sleep in until about 6pm… and then wouldn’t sleep until Sunday afternoon. This way my life for… probably an entire year. If I didn’t have a Jake to talk to in the early morning hours, I would hang out with Jenn and we would be weird and I’d still not get home and in bed until at least 4.
Anyway, my point is, it was fun. I want to do it again!
Yesterday when I was taking my nap, I noticed a ladybug on the ceiling. It disappeared not long after I woke, but then this morning I found it right above my head again. It was giving me good vibes while I slept, aww. I took it outside earlier, my sleep is back to normal. I seem to have developed a minor cold but other than that, I feel fantastic. I love ladybugs, they are one of the easiest bugs to remove from my home because they just sit perfectly still on my hands. Unlike things like moths, which will fly around and be annoying and risk me hurting them while keeping them contained.
Today I was gathering and gathering, making sure I’ve got all the info I can get to potentially prove that Jake and I live as man and wife and that we didn’t get married just so I could get in the country. (I would write a letter stating that I don’t really want to be here, and we would both prefer to be in australia but that’s just not feasible yet… but I have a feeling that would just make them feel better about not allowing me to stay). I am very uncertain about this, and had a stress headache all day long. Until Jake came home, then I just felt love. He’s awesome like that.
It is disgustingly hot right now. I should not be sweating just from typing!
Today I got a coupon in the mail for a free pint of Starbuck’s icecream. From the list provided, I wanted the caramel one, but our very convenient store didn’t have that option so we got the plain coffee one. Oh, it is amazingly awesome icecream! Lovely and smooth and oh so coffee flavoured and awesome!! I think we ate half of it, and we only stopped there because I had a moment of sanity and removed it from our reach. I will be getting more of it, mmm… if only it was always free. I love coffee flavoured things (but not coffee!) so coffee icecream is just an awesome awesome of yay.
The words coffee and Saturday are mildly hard to type today. Maybe because of their repeated use?
I can’t remember if I mentioned it during the blogathon or not… I really buggered my ankles somehow. Just from sitting for ages. The tendons at the back, they were in great pain until this morning. I wasn’t even sitting on my feet for once! They spent the whole time relaxing in front of me. I’m glad they are better now, I felt like they were going to break off at any moment for a while there, and that would not be fun!
A friend of mine from Sweden is currently going through that as well. Best of luck with it.

I actually like corned beef… but I’m with you on the cabbage part, never really liked the smell. 🙂 ~Shady

My wrists are killing me ever since the blogathon ended. Too much typing, I guess! I like cabbage, but then again, I don’t know how much I’d like it if I was smelling it all day every Monday. ::laughs::

If you could just direct them to your diary so they could see all the years of love they’d know you were in the US for love and not for stupid reasons. *sigh*~jo

Eep, what country of origin did you…originate from? Awkward sentance, I know. It’s sweet that you two met on OD. Life is full of surprises. 🙂 *
