I can breathe, I can bleed…

(Written Wednesday night over at livejournal)

My innards are gurgling like crazy right now. Have been since dinner, more than an hour ago. It’s the beef. I don’t think I’d eaten beef since… probably the last time. We had shepherd’s pie (although I think technically it is a cottage pie because it is beef not lamb? shepherd sounds better though) which I actually made for Jake’s birthday in May. I just made so much that it had to be split in half. It was good and tasty, but I don’t think I should eat beef really. It never makes me feels nice afterwards. That is not going to stop me from getting a meat pie from Fergy Plarre when we go home next month though. I crave those so often, and they are only good from there, and it is a tradition for us. Land in Australia – get a meat pie. We also have a "waiting at the airport" tradition, which is to get a smoothie from one of those juice bars that are EVERYWHERE. The best is still the one we got at the New Zealand airport – I don’t remember what it was or even what the company was called, all I know is that we got the big version and it was called a "full tank" and that was hilarious and awesome.

Nothing has been happening here since…Saturday I think I last wrote. (In OD. This is only being written in LJ because OD is down and has been for days and I’m going crazy!) We’ve watched a lot of tv, eaten a lot of food… mostly I have been craving trashy food. Although (my favourite word today!) can it really be considered trashy when it is completely made from scratch? I’ve been really wanting brownies with sprinkles on top. That was a few days ago. Then I thought of making them with those little not-really-m&ms-but-similar-and-peppermint-patty-flavoured things all throughout. Now I’m stuck on the idea of actual peppermint patties (the mini ones, that we have a bag of for halloween) inside brownie pucks. I can’t open that bag of candy until it is only a few days before halloween, though, because we will EAT ALL THE CANDY. We are terrible like that. So those have to wait. By the time I can actually make them, the craving will either have faded, or it will be completely overwhelming.

On the weekend, we watched the 3 (or is it 4?) episodes of Smallville that is this season so far. It’s being good, which I haven’t thought for years. Probably because it is the final season, so they aren’t dragging things out indefinitely. Or maybe it is because we watched them all in one glob so it seemed less dragged. Either way, goodness. I’m kinda looking forward to the next episode, which is on Friday. Although we’ll be watching it on the weekend, because Fridays are Medium and then (the best show ever maybe!) The Good Guys. Stupidly hilarious show, that.

If I don’t stop typing now, I will never stop typing.

"And I sit in a cup on a ride… it seems that you dun ber ber ber lee…." (I could’ve sworn the words didn’t slide that quickly…)

I’m waiting to buy sweets for Halloween too because it won’t last otherwise! RYN: Cool, thanks. Mine’s anna25byrne@gmail.com

People keep telling me Smallville is watchable again, which it hadn’t been for YEARS. And, let’s be fair, it hasn’t been good since season 3.

You need to eat beef coz you need to keep your platelet levels up too. And your iron levels. *shakes mum-type fist at you*

I have only started watching Smallville this season because the powers that be moved Supernatural to Fridays. It just feels……..wrong. For years its been Thursday nights are Bones and Supernatural.

Hiding things in brownies?! Genius! Why do miniture halloween versions of candy taste better than the regular thing? We still haven’t bought Halloween candy because we can’t trust ourselves not to eat it all. :o/ ~jo
