I am an immigrant jellyroll

This is Ellen’s plate of tasty from mini-giving on the weekend. Apple sauce and cranberry sauce were the only things we didn’t make. Delicious roasted butternut squash/carrots/purple potatoes, as well as amazingly moist turkey and the best thing ever – stuffing loaf.

There may be an entry before this that you have not read. Go check. It’s ok, I’ll wait.

Yesterday we went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner. Mean baby doesn’t enjoy the delicious turkey burger as much as I do. It also doesn’t like turkey reubens much anymore, but thankfully it would at least tolerate the burger. It ADORED the cheesy garlicy biscuit that came out after we ordered, so that was good. And the burger was good, it just wasn’t amazingly-fantastic-sigh-with-every-bite good like it normally is. Crazy fetus enjoying flavours that Jake likes more than flavours I like.

Did you know Ellen is only here for a little over a week? That is sad.

This weekend we are going to the Bethlehem fair. I think it is this weekend, I should check. Yep, awesome. I need more cotton candy/fairy floss. We went to our town’s carnival last weekend where I got some tasty spun sugar, and yesterday when I went to eat some more it had… been slightly effected by humidity. I’ve never seen that happen (maybe I just haven’t let it sit around for that long). It was… I had to bite it, and biting it sounded like I was eating polystyrene, as Ellen said. Which was pretty awesome and amusing – biting and chewing fairy floss. The second half of the half that I had in the bag was not crunchy though, it was more like super thick caramel or something. Had to hold on with my teeth and rip the blob away from my mouth. And then the last little bit I had to just suck on like a lollypop. Why did I eat it even though it had gone texturally weird? Because it is sugar, bammit. MY sugar. It was still really tasty, just weird.

I told you the other day about Ellen claiming I must be something in each codeword puzzle she does, right? The whole jug thing? Yeah, well last night was the best one, and my title was the best of last night’s amusement. Tasty AND ever so slightly accurate. How weirdly good.

I think time for Lunch 2 is approaching (breakfast today was tiny so… 2 lunches!)… final remnants of mini-giving YAY!

I feel compelled to tell you that those potatoes look like turds. Also, that I love stuffing (doesn’t matter if it’s homemade or not) so much that sometimes I will buy a box of stove top and have that as my dinner. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
