I am a jug, of sorts.
Umm… oops. Words escape me too often. Or maybe I can blame Ellen for my not writing as many entries lately as I would have liked. Yeah, let’s blame Ellen. She’s just too much fun! So she’s either being fun and enjoyable to hang out with, or she is on the computer playing Bejeweled, knocking me off all the scoreboards (although she did play as me and get an impossibly high score for one of the games, so I can’t complain. Hopefully she will never be able to beat her own score and then I can rule at least one of the boards!)
I wrote about Sunday’s mini-giving extravaganza, yes? Yes. That was lunch and dinner Monday, as well as dinner Tuesday, and there is still a tiny portion left. Like, a small slice of turkey, 3 baby potatoes, and a square of stuffing loaf. I actually had to make more stuffing loaf on Monday, twice as much as I initially made, because we all adore the delicious. Still no pictures. Ellen, upload your pictures! I wanna steal them!
On Monday, not long after lunch, Katey came by and took all the kitties away. Grace got carted off in the carrier (after Lexi climbed in and then Moey started trying to drag her out so he could get in… crazy cats) and then I carried Lex to the car while Katey carried Mo. Moey made the most pathetic sad whiny meow in the car, and Lexi was so weirded out by the fact that she was being let outside. So sad to see them go. If Katey had showed up 7 hours later, they would have been here for exactly 5 months. Isn’t that cool?
I still haven’t gotten around to sweeping since they left, so there are still little blobs of cat hair, as well as a little sprinkling of litter near the bathroom door. I could say I’m being lazy, which is the truth, or I could say it would make me too sad to get rid of the last remnants of their visit. I kept one of the mousey toys that we bought them as a souvenir. I think it may be purple. I like purple.
Yesterday Ellen and I made TWO KINDS OF COOKIES! Oh yeah. We even had a theme – cherries. she made dark chocolate cookies with dried cherries in them, I made plain cookies rolled in cornflakes with a maraschino cherry half on top – one of my all-time favourite childhood cookies. Both came out spectacularly good. I have eaten a lot of them. As well as all the leftover choc chips that Ellen didn’t use in her recipe. Another way baby is like Jake, I don’t like chocolate any darker than milk. But MAN were those chips fantastic. I ate too much of them. As well as stuffed myself to the gills (did you know I’m a fish apparently?) with mini-giving yummies.
I just ate one of each cookie. My mouth is ALIVE WITH FLAVOUR.
Ellen makes me weird. Did you know that?
My title comes from Ellen-related sillies. She was doing a codeword puzzle, and she kept asking me if I was somethign or other every time she found a word in the puzzle. None of them were me, but she was certain I had to be SOMETHING from the puzzle. The finaly options were ‘jug’ and ‘idiot’ so I am a jug. I am holding a bundle of liquidous stuff inside me at the moment, so I am sort of like a jug, right? Or at least I contain a jug.
Tonight’s dinner is beans and cornbread, using the ham bone from last week when we went to Lisa’s and she made us food and we were all YAY HOT FOOD AND POWER! This is Jake’s favourite meal, and something I really enjoy, and Ellen likes beans, so we are all looking forward to the tasty tonight. Beans are good. Especially when you can pretend cornbread dinosaurs (I have a kickass dinosaur muffin tin, best thing ever) are drowning in the beany goo like it is tar. Mmm… yummy AND fun!
Food-y pictures are on your desktop 😀 Did you know that I like food?
