He’s trying to eat our soul with his eyes!!
Weekends are long but they go quick.
Yesterday we didn’t leave the house until midday. Which felt… lazy and late. Normally we leave as soon as I can tolerate the idea of clothes and walking, when we have to go out and do laundry. Stupid laundry. Took hours because we were later than normal so the place was packed. We did get to watch the crazies though. There was one lady that, unless she had an invisible bluetooth ear thing, was have a very heated discussion about keeping her clothes in [town that we were in] with herself. She was standing right next to me for quite a while, so believe me, I checked.
We left late for many reasons. One of them being Jake was enthralled with a tv show that went for 3 hours. Twas a call-in talk show type thing and the guest was a theoretical physicist. I kept tuning out. Reminded me of uni. Not necessarily the subject matter, but just that I could not, no matter how interesting, keep my focus on the words. I need pretty pictures or something to keep my attention. But even then my attention is not guaranteed. I often find myself staring off into space when watching tv. The other day we were watching DVR’d The Late Late Show and when they returned from the ads Craig was staring off into space and so he kept doing the ‘staring off into space’ face every so often during that whole segment. I found that the most amusing when I realised I was staring off into space, looked back at the tv and saw the same face I was just wearing staring back at me. It’s like the time I said YAWN in the kitchen and we both thought we heard the tv say the same thing so we came back in and rewound the telly and found out that yes, it had just said yawn, and yes, it was creepy timing.
After stupid clothes taking until almost 3pm, we headed to Target. Although we got distracted by Subway, because we hadn’t eaten yet. Mmm, lunch. I wanted to go to Target because I wanted to look at the Halloween section. We wandere dup and down the many aisles of orange and creepy things, mostly with me squealing and telling Jake to look at things. It’s a good thing I kept getting distracted, because I probably would have bought a lot more stuff if I hadn’t. The coolest thing there were these spiderweb-shaped plates with cute little drawings of spiders on them. They were a little small, and I couldn’t think of any reason I would ever use a small plate like that, so we didn’t get them, but they were so cute! We only got candy, and none of it is seasonal, but… who knows, this might be the year that we actually get trick or treaters. If not, we have candy to eat! Woo!
Ooh! I almost said "Then we went to Costco and it was boring…" but the truth is, it wasn’t boring. I realised just after we entered that I had left my phone in the car, so we zoomed through. Which meant rather than walking all the way to the back like we normally do, we cut through the book section so we could get to the cereal aisle quicker. Which is where I spotted a 15-book box set of Roald Dahl stories. For $25. So that’s now on the dining table until I can find a place for it. I love Roald Dahl, as does Jake, and half the stories I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of, so yes. We already read one each. Mmm, children’s stories.
We didn’t get home until 5, which is just ridiculous really.
Today we headed towards the mall, because we had lunch plans that involved going to TGI Fridays. We met up with Nick & Stacy, as well as Jake’s Poppa and his ‘girlfriend’ Connie. (Is girlfriend the right word? Seems odd to use such a word when talking about old people) It was a truly lovely lunch. I love Jake’s family, they are all such lovely loveable people. And Connie is such a sweet lady. She kept telling me how much she loves my country. I mean, how could you not, Aus = awesome. We stayed for hours after the food was gone, just chatting and such. Which was great, because TGIs makes me feel so ill. We stayed through the shakes, through the intense stomach pain, and by the time we left I felt fine!
After eats we all went our seperate ways. Jake and I went to the mall because we are both in dire need of new sneakers. Unfortunately, the cheap shoe place (we go through shoes too quickly to justify spending $30 or more on a pair of shoes) only had sneakers with stupid meshy fabricy bits which I have learnt that my feet RIP through. My toenails will cut anything. They cut Jake. My current shoes have the breathable bit above the toes and that has holes in it because my toes point up and stab thigns when I walk, apparently. After that failure we went to Old Navy where I looked at the jeans to see if any of them are flared at all. They were listed on the wall but they didn’t actually exist, which is stupid. It’s so hard to find jeans for me. Stupid needing flaredness.
Tomorrow evening we are having dinner with Jake’s Dad and stepmother. Which means we will be seeing Nick & Stacy two days in a row. Mmm, family.
Title: Is what I yell at Jake every time someone on tv is staring at the camera. Blake Shelton was on Craig twice recently and he… does not shut his eyes. Even when he leans his head back his eyes are still wide open and staring at the camera. It’s terrifying, really.
I love the Halloween dishes at Target! I try so very hard to think of a reason to get some each year and still to this day have not purchased even a glass. Grr. I keep thinking ‘well, maybe when we have a kid.’ But I dont know.

Very entertaining… I love it when creepy timing things like that happen, as it does every once in a while. Although sometimes when I freak out about some people are like, “yeah, and..?” haha 🙂 I just got new sneakers, too! For P.E. actually.

RYN: I actually haven’t been to TGI’s in Ireland. It was one in London I was at last year :o)
