Hello, Monkey Pavement!
Jake and I had a lovely little date-day today.
Jake worked on Saturday for the first time, because the regular guy was sick… or something. So in order to make his one day of weekend feel like 2 days, we decided to go to the movies and out for yummy dinner afterwards. That trick always works with our brain, if we go out and do something it makes the day seem like at least 2. I don’t know why it works, but it does, and that is awesome.
We went to the The Last Airbender in 3D. I hate wearing those glasses, they squeeze my skull and give me such a headache. I don’t think the 3D effects are worth that, but we were using a free movie thingy that Jake got for his birthday so it was 100% his choice of movie. It was a pretty entertaining movie, although BAH, sequel. I like movies that only need one movie to tell the story. I always forget what has happened previously and get confused and such.
Excuse me, I need to run to the store to get sorbet. Mmm…
Mmm… good store experience. Huge amount of people but they all let me go first because I was buying one item. And I got asked if I had a spoon because I didn’t want a bag. Amusement. Tasty sorbet. If only my bowl wasn’t super hot I’d be eating it right now. Mmm…
Anyhoot. So we went to the mall, I got a haircut (got about 2.5 inches off which is annoying because I only wanted to lose 1… it is so short now!), we tried to get a case for my GPS but they didn’t have any anywhere except for the tiniest size available. We bought delicious cinnamon sugar pretzel bites and snuck them into the movie. The cinema itself was disgustingly hot, which is stupid, it should always be freezing cold in there bammit!
After the movies we utilised the awesomeness that is a piece of technology to tell us how to get somewhere, and we went to the nearest Ruby Tuesdays location (30 minutes away, but around here, everything is at least 15-20 minutes away so it wasn’t really that far). Ugh, it was so good. I have missed those tasty turkey burgers. This location was a LOT brighter than the one at the mall was, but that is because it was a stand-alone building so there was lots of natural light. Ooh, and it was right next to a Bed Bath & Beyond store. I love that place, I love looking at the website at all the things I want for the kitchen. And now I know where an actual store is! So exciting. We wandered all over, looking longingly at the kitchen things. We both got HIGHLY amused when we walked past a ‘soothing noises’ type CD set-up, and it started playing music. Which wouldn’t have been that amusing, except that it was the Jackson 5 singing ‘I Want You Back’. So amusingly awesome and random. I looked at the display after this, there was no cd advertised on it that contained that song. *spooky hands*
I seriously love my GPS, I feel so less trapped around here now. I would never have voluntarily gone that far into the unknown before, but now I have a Fauxmer (yes, I name things, got a problem with that?) to keep me from getting lost so that is nice.
I really need to write an entry about the Alternathon (Oh-dawk! Because there is no blogathon, so some lovely ladies are ‘hosting’ one here on OD) so I can entice you all into sponsoring me. Especially if you live in the same country as me, for there may very well be cookies in your future…
Just so you know there is a ruby tuesday’s and a bed bath and beyond right down the road from me…..Just sayin I always love your pictures. I love you too.

We got a Bed Bath and Beyond a few mnths ago and I keep meaning to go and keep forgetting. Does your GPS sound like Homer Simpson? Is that why it’s Fauxmer? ~jo

You should watch the show that The Last Airbender is based on. Why is your GPS Fauxmer? Do tell about Alternathon. You have 2 more eyes?
