First mother’s day

I love being a mother. I love being Ashley’s mother. She’s so much fun, so adorable… she’s the thing I love most in the world and my absolute favourite person (I apologise to Jake every time I say that, but he gets it, and feels the same way I think).

This morning I woke up at the reasonable hour of 7:30. I had a smiley baby staring at me from her crib, wanting a change and a feed, and a lovely husband who gifted me a box of chocolates as long as Ashley. I took a photo to prove this. (When she’s full grown I plan on showing her this and telling her to get me a box as long as she is at that time. heh)

The rest of the day has been cuddles, wiping drool, and taking lots of photos. I’ve been trying to get a good mother/daughter photo all day. I got a few good ones, but I think my favourite is at the top of this entry.

Yesterday we got Ashley an exersaucer-type thing. She doesn’t like it too much yet, but she’s had to warm up to every one of her toys so I’ll give it some time. I love it, it’s pretty fun. I had a lot of fun at Babies R Us playing with the variety of exersaucers they had set up, trying to work out which one was the best. Ashley had a great time there too, even though she was just sitting in her stroller. Maybe my enjoyment was infectious? Either way, it was super adorable. She also scored a few teething toys because none of her toys would fit in her mouth and she’d get so frustrated when she tried to chew on them so we got her something she could use. All of this passes as 3-month-birthday presents. Why not!

I don’t know what it is about these pants, but I think they look like she should be walking around barefoot on a cruise.
