Fantastically disgusting or disgustingly fantastic

Ugh. This morning I realised we are broke this month. Like, can’t really afford to buy food broke. We have an insanely well-stocked pantry and freezer, so I think we can manage to live on $10 a week (pretty much all spent on milk) for 2 and a half weeks. The week after that we will have thanksgiving leftovers galore, and last year those took a week to get through. And after that, AUSTRALIA. (Which is part of the reason we are broke this month – I can’t push a bill or two into next month because we won’t be here! And I’m not leaving with bills unpaid.)

So this morning was stress and figuring out stuff. Then I counted all the coins we have laying around, and the money in our tattoo fund, and it should be just enough to keep us afloat for November. Especially if Russ doesn’t deposit the rent checks until the end of the month…

This afternoon I went to the post office and found an awesome package from my Mum! I knew something was coming, she told me when she mailed it off last week. I predicted to Jake that it would contain "some candy – probably including something musk, kakuro/killer sudoku type puzzle books, a card, and maybe even more rubber gloves for you" and guess what it contained? Exactly that! Heh. I know my Mum’s awesomeness.

I giggled when I opened the package and the happy octopus was staring back at me.

Because you know, we don’t have enough candy laying around. Halloween leftovers, the random package of Skittles and Starburst that is meant to be hiding in the stash cupboard but that we both sneak things from… and now my biscuit tin is yet again full of things that are not biscuits.

My title… I was describing something really amazingly tasty, and called it "disgustingly fantastic". Jake, being silly, thinks those two words can be flipped and mean the same thing. No, no no.

I wish I had space in my belly for one of those crunchies…
