Epically Adventurous and Oh So Exhausting!

Epic Adventure Day, otherwise-but-more-boringly-known-as "oh crap we have a lot of errands to do today", was 7 hours of out and about today.

We started the day with a quick trip to the post office and petrol station. Both rather boring, and close to home, and not worth elaborating.

Our first real stop was the most boring one, which is why we got it done first. The laundromat. The washing part was ok because there was a bench right there to sit on. The drying always sucks because as soon as we get off the benches someone else sits there so we end up having to stand. Which I couldn’t be bothered doing today, so I sat on the floor. And watched the exciting infomercials on tv. Woo!

Stop 2 was Target. We got many exciting things, like body wash and face wash. Actually, everything we got there is used in the shower. Super-fun trip that was. Well, that part wasn’t, but there is a Starbucks attached to this particular Target, so we got a caramel frappa-dude and got alerted up by the caffeine and massive amounts of sugar. Such an awesome beverage.

Next stop was Costco, where we bought a bunch of breakfast cereal. So we are quite set for breakfast (and Jake’s cereal-for-dessert) for a good while now.

The tastiest stop was next, Ruby Tuesday! It’s also the thing furthest from home. Jake took a few pictures while I was driving. We both had burgers – turkey for me, alpine swiss for Jake – and delicious beverages. I adore Ruby Tuesday. It is my most favourite place for eats. The servers are always lovely – today’s waitress called me ‘sweetie’, even though she was at most 2 years older than me. I like that this Ruby Tuesday is right next to a Bed Bath & Beyond, because I love that place. It’s fun to look at all the stuff. Jake got me a silpad so I can stop using parchment paper every time I want to make cookies. I’m excited to use it, it claims to help prevent burning of cookie-butts, which is something I really need help with. I also like that there is an Outback Steakhouse restaurant across the road, because it makes me speak rather accented. I want to eat there one day, just to speak in my proper accent and see if they notice which accent I am speaking in. But I’d be sad because the waiters will not be speaking like Aussies, which I think they should.

Second-last stop was the mall. Both of our watches had stopped working, so we went to a hidden little place at the mall and got new batteries. Jake’s watch was completely assed though, wouldn’t work even with the new battery. The guy was nice, took back the battery in Jake’s watch and that was that. We also went to the shoe store, because we had a thing so I could get a pair of shoes for half off. All I wanted was a cheap pair of sandals with no heel. This apparently does not exist. Everything was either incredibly ugly, incredibly expensive for what it was, or had a 4 inch heel. Why do ladies with size 10 feet need such heels on every kind of shoe? It makes no sense to me. Oh well, my current sandals aren’t completely fallen apart yet. I also got a little something at Sears, and we got a points card thing from them as well. When the cashier was doing all that… it knew my name. And that creeped me out massively, until I realised it’s probably from when I got the warranty for my GPS. Still weird and creepy though.

Lastly we went to the little shopping complex in the next town. Went to Kmart where Jake got a brand new watch, identical to the one he used to have. It looks so shiny and non-gross! And we went to the grocery store and got… almost nothing.

So much exhausting. When we got home I just wanted to sleeeep. Had to shower first because carrying all that stuff inside made me grossly sweaty. Now Jake is watching The Fifth Element, and I am sleepy and want to relax on the couch.

I hope you are all doing well!

I hate when people call me “Sweetie.” Bleh!

We went to Outback Steakhouse when we were in L.A in 2004. Awesomely delicious food! Noticed they spelled bonza as B-O-N-Z-E-R on the menu so I told the waiter…haha! He was quite disturbed they had the spelling wrong.

Petrol Station. Petrol Station. PETROL STATION. *giggles* Costco! I like how Outback apparently triggers your accent. I have a watch but the band broke and I haven’t had it fixed. I’m not even sure if I still know how to work it.

I much prefer calling errand days something like Adventure Days, or whatever suits my mood at the time. It makes it so much more pleasant when it’s not “chores”. Is Ruby’s the place that has the amazing strawberry lemonade, or is that TGI’s?

RYN: Oops!

Outback Steakhouse is fun. I loved making fun of the menus, and the waitstaff were all obsessed with my accent. It was fun times 😀

Aaah, Bruce Willis!!!! I’m glad you got to have some treats in the form of a caramel-frappa dude and burgers and more delicious beverages. Yay for Epic Adventure Day!!!!

Sounds like a fun day! Whenever I watch True Blood my accent comes out a bit.

Busy day! I love busy days, I love running errands 🙂 It’s so annoying about heels. I hate heels and just can’t wear them. Atleast there’s more flats around the place these days. 🙂

“frappa-dude” had me laughing so hard. I heard that EAD had happened and looked forward to reading so I’ve been saving it. I attempted to read but oh-lack-of-glasses is so not fun. So I shall hoard it a little longer til after I find glasses and had an eye-nap. but, have to say I want a fave place to eats, I’m still looking n every place makes me grumpy for not being “the place” for Leon-digestion

LOOOL epic adventure day just makes the day sound way more fun. That is so my philosophy! Ew petrol station. smelly places! mmmm Laundromat infomercials. Did you see any infomercials for cleaning/laundry/stain removal products? Because that would’ve been funny stuff. LOL caramel frappa-dude?? What’s that, manly coffee? XD Gorgey photo. Eee, trees and windshield-blue’d sky!

Ooh, what’s silpad? Sounds useful! I keep hearing that the Aussie (or not) dude in the Outback Steakhouse commercials is faking his accent. I bet the Sez can tell for sure- is it fakey? It could fool me! o-o Sez doesn’t have much of an accent, but she has a very cute little one.

Aww, poor assy watch. Gah, that reminded me of one time when I was talking about posting a new drawing and I said my “artsies”, but I almost typo’ed it as “arsies” and I kept laughing and going “GAH!
