Disjointed catchup.

I swear, I had every intention of getting up early (for me) this morning. Ashley wakes us at about 7:15 every day. I usually get up about 8. It is 8:30, and we’re both still in bed. She is sitting up, her head rested on my belly, fast asleep. Even if I could get free, why would I? My hungry belly grumbles must be comforting music for her. Plus, she went to sleep so late last night (9:30 instead of 8) so she needs more sleep.

The reason she was up so late was 2 things. First, her daddy wasn’t home at bedtime, so she fought sleep until he was. She finally went to sleep once Jake www laying next to her, providing much-needed Daddy cuddles. Second, she woke up from an hour-long nap at 6:30. She’s been transitioning to one nap (weekends have had one nap for a while, but this week is the first full time 1 nap schedule) and she woke early so nap was ridiculously early so she just crashed.

Jake was out because he went to have frozen yogurt with his coworker-friends to celebrate a birthday. We were all going to go, but Ash was asleep at leaving so Jake got a lift. He brought me back some, chocolate and nutella flavours, which I ate while he put bub to sleep. So good.

2 nights ago, Ashley let me leave her side after she went to sleep. This is big! I hadn’t been free since we got back from Australia on the 16th of last month. It was amazing and wonderful. I talked with Jake, read a magazine, and got the birthday photos uploaded!

She is awake now, but if I talk she shoves her pacifier in my mouth. Not very subtle. I love how she looks at me like I’m magical when I leave her pjs on but change her diaper (it unzips from her neck to her right foot.)

Even more impressive than letting me free, when she fussed at one point she grabbed her paci and went back to sleep… faster than I could get in the room. We just kept saying WOW after that, didn’t know she would do that!

We went for a little walk the other day. From the car to the store, and then around the store a bit. Ash refused to walk through the door into the store, she doesn’t like them for some reason. Once it is not so cold out we are going to walk to the post office, just because we can. I think that would be a lot of fun for Ashley. At the moment the path still has ice so it may be a while.

This entry has taken forever! When we went to the lounge room, Ash noticed the calendar looked different and kept pointing at it. Then she ran around the room grabbing pink and red toys, each time pointing to the calendar when she handed it to me. It is a picture of a sunset out the bedroom window, the window she looks out often, so I’m impressed she noticed the difference. Smart little girl.
