Did you know it’s congealed face time?

I had the best snack this afternoon. Celery with peanut butter, sliced apple covered in salt and pepper, and some pepperjack cheese. All that was missing was a hard boiled egg or two. Mmmmmm….

Finally finished cleaning the roasting pan this afternoon, so I have officially finished our thanksgiving dishes. So nice to look into the kitchen and only see things we have dirtied today, rather than things from the weekend. We’re almost out of food from the big meal as well, we have a whole turkey breast and a huge pile of stuffing loaf (seriously, I can’t lift the container with one hand because it is too heavy!) as well as cranberry sauce and gravy. I think that’s it. We do have stuff to make more veggie sides, so there’s enough for a few more meals. This evening we had quesadillas. Chopped up some turkey and stuffing loaf, spread cranberry sauce over the bottom tortilla, and covered the lot in cheese. SO GOOD. Jake ate his with sour cream, and it used up all the tortillas too (they were nowhere near as good as the ones we normally get) so yay for getting rid of some things! It was a nice dinner-change, on both Monday and Tuesday we reheated a plate-worth of food in the oven each, but both days my eyes were bigger than my stomach. But I still ate it all. I felt very american, eating a huge thanksgiving meal and needing to nap afterwards I was so stuffed. If I was piling directly on my plate I wouldn’t have had that issue, but oh well.

Every morning, I keep thinking it is the weekend. I think it is because we didn’t get a day of complete nothing this past weekend, we were too busy preparing stuff, so I feel like there was no weekend and therefore we should have one right now. I’m hoping that after the coming Sunday (we have a LOT to do on Saturday, but nothing for Sunday) I don’t feel like that anymore, because it makes me sad when I wake up and realise it is not the weekend and therefore Jake is at work.

Our baby girl has been very active this evening, even kicking me while I showered. I can count the number of times she has kicked me while I’ve been standing/moving on one hand… or at least I could until this evening. It makes me giggle when she kicks me when I’m not being sedentary.

On the weekend, Matt and Lisa gave us their old christmas tree. I can’t be bothered setting it up this year, and Jake doesn’t see the point of it this year either. It’s nice that we have it so we can have it be all pretty and such when we have baby’s first christmas, but this year I think it would just get in the way. We’ve got a drawing of a tree, that’s good enough. And I’m not putting that up until we have some cards to go above it and presents to go underneath it. I’m not wrapping our presents until I have something to wrap for me. Which I will hopefully find at the mall this weekend in the middle of our errand-adventure. I always have such trouble finding stuff. I either have absolutely no clue what to get, or I have too specific an idea and can’t find anything to fit my ideal.

Ew, congealed face? Your little girl will be getting squished so she will be more active for a while now as she tries to make her home bigger. And then later she will be too squished to move as much. And then she will want to get outside to stretch her legs properly.
