Colliding co-leaders

On Monday afternoon, Jake and I headed off on a should-be-2-hour-but-was-closer-to-3-thanks-to-local-highway-traffic trip to JFK airport. Terminal 7, where all the cool people show up. We got there and the flight info said Ellen’s plane had arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule, 10 minutes before we were there. So we stood (well, Jake stood, I sat and wiggled my legs around) at the emergence area and waited for a person that would look familiar. And then there was one! Yay!

I demanded super-expensive airport Subway, so we went to the other end of the terminal where Jake bought me food and a drink and Ellen and I sat and… probably chatted about her flight. Sandwich was good, as all sandwiches are.

Drive home was waay easier than drive to the airport, but either way I was glad to be done for the day.  Ellen gave me a few presents! Party mix (yum candy yay!) chicken salt (mmmmmmmmmmmm) and an adorable little tiger toy that she made! I don’t have a picture of it. I should take one. It is currently the only resident in our baby box – the container we bought for miscellaneous baby things but… we don’t have baby things yet. After I got presents, and Ellen met the kitties, we went next door so mean people (Jake and Ellen) could get delicious premade wraps for dinner that I’m not allowed to eat at the moment. I had bbq chips and some Naked juice, so it was ok.

On Tuesday, Ellen and I had lunch downstairs with Jake. I had a pancake (I just wanted a small meal, but instead I got one pancake that was made with the batter of at least 2, so it was excessively fluffy and waay too filling) with some canadian bacon on top. Ellen had a turkey reuben, and we shared some fries that I covered in chicken salt. They were sooo good.

That afternoon, I asked Ellen is she was banging her head repeatedly on the couch. I was sitting next to her, so I could see she wasn’t, but it felt like she was. She thought a cat was clawing up the back of the couch. Then the tv started to shake, and we thought maybe it was an earthquake. Which it was, or at least the remnants of one that was far away. So that was fun, I got to stand by the tv in case it tried to fall over. It didn’t, thankfully. Was a cool experience, I guess.

Wednesday (also known as YESTERDAY!) we did not have lunch with Jake, so Ellen was mean again and had a wrap from the store (turkey blt with cranberry mayo! That’s MY wrap!) while I was stuck with a vegemite sandwich on bread that is too flavourful for a vegemite sandwich.

For the second afternoon in a row, we went for a walk when Jake was done with work. This time, Ellen took her camera, so I did too. That’s where I got the mini pinecone photo that is up top. When we go for walks as a trio, somehow I end up being the leader with the other two walking behind me. So yesterday was slow because I had the wrong shoes on. When Ellen walks alongside me, we are co-leaders. And so we crash into each other on purpose to be colliding co-leaders. For we are that cool.

Nice photos, but not one of you and Ellen being colliding co-leaders? Or even just being smiley and non-colliding?
