Caterpillar of grooviness
I started working out on the Wii Fit on Thursday. Just a half hour on Jake’s lunch break so that Ashley could be entertained while I do something where I can’t pay attention to her. Turns out, not necessary. She LOVES watching the tv with the cartoons and the cute music while I do things. She also occasionally watches me and looks amused. It’s wonderful, today I worked out before Jake’s break so I wouldn’t have to pick up the baby while being sweaty. I’ve missed working out, haven’t play on the wii fit since very early in my pregnancy because my belly felt like it was being tugged out when I would. Tomorrow I might play the MJ game, even more fun!
Speaking of early pregnancy, today marks a year since the estimated date of conception of our darling little Ashley. That’s kind of amazing. Hard to believe she’s existed in a form of her body for a year now (although it is another 6 weeks until it’s a year since we knew of her existence).
This weekend, Ashley was so awesome. We got up stupidly early (well, 7:30, which is pretty good seeing as we had slept from midnight straight through…) on Saturday and went to have breakfast downstairs because we had so little in the apartment that we had no cereal. This is what happens when we don’t go to Costco very often, we run out of essentials! Anyway, I had banana pancakes again and it was amazingly delicious. As always. Then we went to Costco. Now we have 6 giant boxes of cereal, I think that will last a while. I hope. Yet again our stash cupboard is full to the brim and that’s the way I like it. Ash napped the entire time we were out, which was great because it’s so easy to deal with a sleeping baby. She’s actually getting pretty good with being out and about, the few moments she was awake either weekend day (on Sunday we went to the grocery store) she just looked around, didn’t fuss and need to be unstrapped from her carseat or carried or anything, which is wonderful.
Her latest thing of fun to do is lift her legs like she is doing ab workouts. It’s adorable.
I forgot to write about it! The other day, I think it was on the way home from pizza with Gale, I saw a raccoon! It was a dark dark street (no streetlights) so it was really good that I was going slow (20 in a 40 zone, the car behind me was being right-on-my-arse with very bright headlights) because otherwise I would’ve hit it. As it was, it stopped and stared at the car, then ran off to the side of the road.
Jake and I have a date organised! His birthday is the 22nd (which is also Ashley’s 100th day since being born) so we’re going to see The Avengers and go somewhere for dinner (I think IHOP is what he wants) while Ash stays at home with her Grandma Lisa (and maybe Grandpa Matt). I can’t wait, it’s going to be weird to be away from her for so long, but nice at the same time.
My gosh, how much she looks like Jake in that first picture! Date nights are fun ^_^

I love her little face! And feet! You know, I kinda thought that after having my own little bundle of love and joy that others would no longer make me swoon, but that didn’t happen. I’m still swoony over Ashley every single time you post a pic. My heart does a little flip and everything. :o) ryn: I pretty much always read you to check in and see what Ash is up to now. I startwith the most recent and go backwards until I run out of time. ~jo
