My face ACHES, but poor smoosh has had a worse day so I shouldn’t complain.

This morning was Ashley’s 9 month well visit. We got there almost 15 minutes early, which amazed me because Ashley napped kinda late. The second she started to wake up I jumped up and got dressed and got everything ready to go and we were EARLY. Wow. Ashley cried the entire way there, I think the sun was shining in through the back window in her eyes, and normally she has her Dad sitting next to her so he can block the evil shine, but not today. I knew her cries were "I miss/need Daddy", but I didn’t know about the sun until I was getting her out of the car.

Dr visit was quick. We were so early, and yet we didn’t have to wait long. Normally we get there closer to the appointment time and have to wait FOREVER, so it was awesome. Ashley is 20lb and 28 inches. I thought she would’ve been AT LEAST 21lb, but whatever. I’ll have to see what our ‘scales’ say. She got 2 shots (including flu), her Dr gave us a copy of her immunisation records just so we have them on our trip, so that’s cool. I can’t believe that next time we go she will be 1 year old. That just seems absolutely crazy to me.

The drive home was again filled with tears, but only when the sun could be shining on her, supporting my theory. We got home just in time for Ash to get a few minutes of Daddy cuddles before he went back to work, which really made her smile.

I don’t know what we did with our afternoon, other than go around the apartment and make many messes of things. There is a huge pile of books on the floor by the bookshelf, a pile of ripped up magazines under the kitchen table… baby mess!

This evening, Ashley was crying hard in her high chair at dinner time. So I released her, and somehow in between me undoing her straps and grabbing her, she slid down. She fell right to the ground. Not as bad as it could have been, I did manage to grab her enough to slow the fall but unfortunately not enough to stop it. Shots AND a lot of head-bumping? What a day.

Just like last time she got shots (I think?) Ashley fell asleep in my arms around 6pm. We watched the 2 mythbusters episodes on the dvr and then when Ash woke at 7:30, we moved to pjs and the bed. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work, because bedtime is 8, but I didn’t want to keep her up until 8 and then find that was a terrible idea and have her be awake for hours. She went to sleep fairly quickly, but at first she wanted to stand and climb me and things instead of rest. And at one point, she tumbled and landed the back of her head on my nose, hard enough to start her crying. That’s why my face aches, and I am so lucky I have a weird nose because otherwise it would’ve started bleeding. My nose just goes *squish* and it sounds terrible but nothing else happens. Well, other than a headache.

I hope Ashley sleeps well tonight, she has lots to recover from so fingers crossed. I hope I sleep well too, have to get up early to have a shower because I didn’t get a chance for one tonight. Sucks, I like ‘sleeping in’.

Aw, poor Ash! I hope she feels better soon, poor little mite!

🙁 Poor Ashley. Hope she feels better tomorrow. NoNoMo update: I did an exam today. First time since high school, and hopefully the last. It was… not awful, but definitely not great either. I started out being vaguely good handwriting, and got gradually worse as I panicked a bit and tried to go quicker…

I hope Ashley has woken to a much better day. And you too.

Ouch for both of you.

Rhea hits her head about 3-10times per day since she started walking. She has a constant forehead bruise. *sigh * Helmet, anyone? ~jo
