Barphen Starter

Today was a lovely long date day with the Jake-one.

We headed off to the mall at about 11, and went straight to Ruby Tuesday’s for lunch. Delicious yummy strawberry lemonade and a turkey burger was my order, and so very good. I couldn’t eat all of the burger, and that made me sad. I don’t have an american sized stomach. The strawberry lemonade was really good too, the bottom inch (at least) seemed to be purely strawberry pieces. Yumyum.

Eating took only about 20 minutes, so we were left with an hour before the movie started. So we wandered the mall. Went to JC Penney and wandered around the bedding section (I was lured by the ugly coloured sheets I could see in the distance, had to see if they were really that ugly up close) and found so many amazingly soft blankets for 40% off. And then a bit further down there was some even softer throw rugs for 50% off. And some awesomely soft pillows. All in a lovely shade of red that would match our bed and ottoman. We didn’t get anything though. I was going to though.

Next place we wandered into was the pet store. Which was a silly place to go, I usually try to avoid it, but I needed to price a bigger home for my Trogdor. They had no homes for him, but so many cute puppies! Only little pug was gnawing on the cage and his water bottle, I just wanted to take him home. Of course we didn’t, even on sale (animals on sale… wtf) he was too expensive. $200. It made me cry to leave the store.

Obviously browsing is not something I should do.

We saw The Watchmen. (dude, tv is talking about hot sauces and there was insanity sauce! And ULTIMATE insanity sauce! Insanity does not need to be ultimate) Jake seemed to really enjoy it. I enjoyed it enough, even though my mind kept wandering or I’d try and remember what one of my faves had written when they saw the movie and all the things that didn’t make sense to them. Mmm… distracting.  Did not seem to go for the 3 hours it did last, so that’s a good thing. The length of it was the reason I did not get the blanket for next winter, we had to get t to CostCo and then to Walt’s before 5 o clock (we only just made it) so an extra stop did not seem smart. I also ‘missed out’ on some pretzel bites. Mmm…

This evening has just been relaxination time. Lovely.

Title is something Jake said.

When we left this morning, I was trying to make a cd for the car. When we got home, it was still trying to burn. I tried with a different cd, and the program froze. Guess it is a cd not wanting to be made. Yargh.

Seems like a good day. I want to see The Watchmen but I kept hearing things about the blue guy…

WOW $200 for a pug is really cheap, even when converted to to the australian monies! Damn that lack of monies!
