At least stop basting yourself!

Would you believe we made the most beautiful (and delicious, but beautiful) roast turkey today and I DIDN’T TAKE A PICTURE?

It is 10pm but it feels like 3am. Like 3am if I wasn’t allowed to go to sleep. For science maybe. Why else would I stay up even if I didn’t want to? Science seems like the answer there.

I got up before 9am. We started making the apple pie at 9am. Dinner was at 6pm. I was pretty much doing something for that entire time. By the time the food was in front of me, I wanted to sleep on my plate. I ate a dinner roll full of turkey/stuffing/mashed sweet potato/cranberry sauce and was done. Tiny slice of apple pie and that’s all I ate.

Everyone loved everything. Except maybe the gravy. But the gravy looked gross. Apparently tasted great, but looked like the most disgusting thing ever.

I forgot to make a veggie dish – so glad young-Matt brought a green bean casserole or there would have been NO vegetables.

Stuffing loaf was devoured and adored, mostly for the bacon in it.

The turkey was fall-apart delicious. Breasts were dry though. I told Jake to roast it upside down but he said it was. It was not. Breasts would not be dry if it was upside down. He wouldn’t let me baste it.

There were quite a few videos taken throughout the day, hopefully they will be shared at some point because I would LOVE to share them with you all.

My back aches. I’m going to bed.

It’s a shame the breast was dry, that’s the best part! (Also the only part of any bird I’ll eat… What can I say, boobs are great.) Green bean casserole baffles me. I should probably google that. I am ramble-iciious, AND KIND OF FREAKING LOUD.

Mmm…it all sounds so good!

Oops, no veggie side dish. Thank heavens for young-Matt. As distinct from Matty. And Matt. Too many people with the same name. I am glad you hosted a delicious Thanksgiving meal yet again.

glad it turned out well.

I’m not a turkey fan in general, but I do love the way they look all roasted and brown and crispy.

simply the best meal ever and I didn’t think the breast meat was dry at all. The stuffing was the best I honestly have ever eaten. Everything qA SO GREAT AND THE COMPANY WAS THE BEST. I love you even more. You were both such great hosts’.

Who needs veggies when you have stuffing? Glad everything turned out for you.
