And it burned like gasoliiiiine

Took the car to get the emissions tested today. I’ve had a notice sitting on my printer since we got back from Australia (I still have to write those freaking Adelaide-Christmas entries… I’m really living up to my April deadline…) and it was due on Tuesday so we went and got it done. Took maybe 3 minutes to drive to the place on the best named street that ever existed. Bacon Pond Road. There was a tiny body of water right at the start of the road, so I asked Jake if that is Bacon Pond. He didn’t know. I always imagine floating meat when I think of that road.

Everyone else seemed to have the same idea of going to the place today, so we waited around for quite a while, watching the really weird cartoons on the tv. Weird car-racing animals that were having issues with their GPSs, they were malfunctioning and instead trying to play cards or rock-paper-scissors or clean up the road or something. Very odd. Right as someone came in to replace the tv monitor we were done, so that was pretty good timing. The guy said that Zebu "studied really hard" and passed. I think that is a fabulous way to word it.

Once back home, we went downstairs and  had the delicious drug sandwiches known as turkey reubens. There was no Kerry or Mel working so it was rather odd and quiet (the place was packed, but it usually is when we decide to eat there). Oh, best sandwiches ever. I love turkey reubens, proper turkey reubens, so much. Such a great amalgamation of flavours, perfectly balanced to make my tastebuds so very pleased. And of course, they make us loopy. We came upstairs after eating and fell about laughing about something that I really wish I could remember. I’m sure it’s not as funny anymore, but it’s so fun being reuben-high with my squid. Everything is more fun with him.
