Ah ooh ooh ooh AH! Mum!
I hate that I haven’t had time to write much this week. It’s been cold and I’ve been unmotivated.
We’ve worked out a little system to keep me sane. I get a little bit of time as Sez before I put Ashley to bed, so that I have the motivation to be a Mum during the day. I miss having unended time after she goes to bed, but this works okay. I tend to start crying when she takes too long to go to bed for the afternoon nap but that is better than crying because she won’t go to bed at night which always takes longer. I can’t wait until she will let me free and sleep in her own crib again. We had a serious conversation about it today, and she understood (I think, she wouldn’t let go of me for 10 minutes, needed big cuddles) but who knows. I need to be able to move in bed whenever I want to again. I miss that so much…
Yesterday when I got up it was 3 or 4F. Which is -16C. And guess what? The heater wasn’t working! It must’ve stopped at some point in the early morning, because it wasn’t too cold yet (it was 60F/15C inside, whereas it is normally 70F/20C) but because the heater had been on for days it took a while for it to drop. Ash and I went downstairs after morning nap (that was terribly cold, laying there with my boob out in the cold air, talk about goosebumps!) to warm up and ask Laurie for help. She is Russ’s daughter so she’s kinda like a backup landlord. She called Russ, called the oil company, and got the furnace to work. I think we had a little bit too low oil so it stopped working? I don’t know. They are coming to clean the furnace next week and we’re getting more oil. It was just so nice of her to sort all that out for us.
While Laurie did that, we sat at the table near the door and Ash played. Standing at the door watching cars, greeting people as they came in… it was so cute. She walked around, proved that she can. It was lovely.
Ugh, I have to write a grocery list so we can go shopping tomorrow morning. Hopefully we’ll get going nice and early and there won’t be many people at Walt’s so Jake can get a shave and haircut quickly. Jake is going to help one of his coworkers move tomorrow at some point so it would be nice if we are done and home by the time they want him to help.
Title: What Ashley said when I asked for a title.
She’s so cute! Yeah, I went through the anxiety of feeling trapped when Rhea slept on me. I feel a lot better about it now that she sleep next to me instead of on me, but it can still be annoying. She does sleep in her crib at night, for a few hours at least, but I always have to take her to the spare room when she wakes up, which is anywhere between 11pm – 4am. It’s so much better than when I had to actually hold her in my arms and I couldn’t sleep as well. Hopefully Ash grows out of it! ~jo

my goodness I love that picture, she looks so joyful! She will get back into her own bed because you are committed to that happening and you are the best Mommy ever.
