FINALLY

The night before Thanksgiving.

I think I made my peace with not being home for Thanksgiving this year, it’s actually the first time I’ve ever missed it. My sisters and my dad were fine with it, and I’m sure my mom heard through word of mouth (we’re still not really on speaking terms)

Set up the restaurant tonight so that tomorrow all we would have to do is load the chaffers up and put out plates. We have like 400 people spread out over 6 hours of serving time… I predict insanity, but then again I guess that’s why I’m here. If it’s anything like Mother’s Day I’ll dominate the day. I’m also decking myself out for the occasion (plus it is my official last day) black vest, tie, slacks, and the shoes I bought last week in Manhattan – they make my feet like super long, but hey, style over substance right?

Once everything is said and done I’ll probably try to go to sleep relatively early, like 7 or 8pm – I am getting up at 2am to finalize my packing, shower, get dressed and then hitting the road at 330am for Santa Fe – I gave myself an extra half hour of travel time in case of weather. I’m being picked up by the Sandia Shuttle at 5am and arriving at Albuquerque International Sunport around 630, my flight is at 745 to Denver, then at 10am to Wichita, I land at 1230.

No big plans this weekend, except going out Friday night, it seems to be a mini high school reunion and I’m excited. As for Saturday and Sunday I’ll probably just take it easy.

I wish I didnt have to close up shop tonight. It goes so SLOW.

Oh well, it’s the last time I do it 🙂
