its not about being the best, its about victory

I just heard something that made me feel so disgusted i actually glared at the radio…
It was a taped conversation with a democratic delegate to the democratic national convention, and he said the following (as close to verbatim as I recall):
"It doesn’t really matter who will be the best president, who will do the better job, (between Obama and Clinton), what matters is who is the better candidate to win the presidency"

this is why I usually dont talk politics with people… voting along party lines is for fanatics.  Intelligent citizens make informed decisions based on who they think will do the best job. 

its a shame that politics isnt about putting the best person for the job in the office…. its about winning.  its about power and the thrill of victory, not whats good for the country.

Its too bad that none of these candidates would try to take on a cross-party vice president if given the chance.  that would be a sight to see.
