By Way of Hood Listings

So yesterday I had my braids taken out but before going I had to find a place. While speaking with Tommy she told me to just go to the hood and find a place. We all know you just don’t want to ride around in the hood looking lost, looking for a braiding place. So I made the BF drive while I looked. I found two places one of which was in the belly of the hood. We went in, they look at me, Im thinking HELLO SHOW SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SPEAK! But no.

So I say I need to get my braids taken out
(they continue to stare),
(I stare back)
Finally she says "when"
I said "tomorrow"
(after about 7 minutes of standing beside her with her back turned to me, she turns around)
and says "are these the length of your hair"
I say "Yes"
(Then she calls for back up from the back)
Im standing there like ok, while they speak in their language about me
Then the other lady says "This is the length of your hair?, blows her breath and rolls her eyes"
Ummm excuse me? Do you not do hair for living? What is the problem?

Needless to say me and the BF get back in the car in search on another place. So we found one, that was more so on the out skirts of the hood, if you will. So I go in, tell her the same. "This is the length of you hair?" YES PEOPLE YES!!! ISH! So she says they can do it, but will have to charge more….ok fine! I will see you in the morning!

So I get there and it is just her and I in the store. She asked me again "So this is the length of your hair" YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So she begins cutting up to the part where the glue is, then I notice around the back part the scissors are sounding awfully close to my head, Im thinking I know she is not cutting . So I sit and wait to see. The pile of hair on the floor was enormous! I couldn’t tell what was mine and what was bought. So I wait to touch and feel after she does a section. Hmmmm feels pretty knappy but short still.

Again I was in pain, as she combed and pulled and ripped. Then she says to me, I didn’t believe you when you said your hair was that long. Ummmm (confused face) what do you mean you didn’t believe me? So I don’t know what went on, but my hair is much thinner and much shorter now. Hopefully everything will go well for my relaxer….stay tuned.
