I don’t have to work today. Holiday from work, Easter weekend. I woke up slightly earlier than usual, I did go to bed very early last night (had 2 nights in a row that I didn’t sleep well). Since I was awake, I figured I’d go to the store…..really needed toilet paper and I’ve heard if a person goes early enough that you could get some.
I totally forgot today was the 10th. All the people that get money from the state (SNAP or WIC or whatever that stuff is called) got their money today….so they were all out. Literally NO toilet paper anywhere in this freaking town (so the whole 3 stores to get stuff (Hyvee, Walmart, Walgreen’s))!
Seriously, the people who have gotten toilet paper, how do you manage to do it?!?! The online shopping is so backed up, I can’t even claim any for a later day
I am always watching programs on Hulu so I haven’t heard the news about people who get SNAP getting extra money. Boy was I surprised when I got an automated call from the JFS telling me today. What a big help that will be. I only get $16/ mo which helps when I run low on something during a month but it’s a struggle to get groceries otherwise su this is huge to me. *Though I won’t be going to get toilet paper, lol.
@mamaqueenie518 I’m not sure how snap or wic work…just know some kind of state help goes to people in need on the 10th

All of the stores I have dealt with will only let you pick times for the next two days and then you have to come back to choose a time. We found if you go on after midnight, but early in the morning they are just beginning to fill slots for the next day and you can get a pick up time and the shelves have been restocked.
