meeting laci

Yesterday I asked Laci when she was gonna leave Bismark and plan on being in Yankton. She said she had to stop in Fargo and Sioux Falls. She’d let me know when she’d leave Sioux Falls and make plans from there. She wasn’t sure if she’d have enough time last night to meet (cause she told her mom she’d be at her parents by a certain time).

Well, we ended up meeting in Vermillion, she was running a little behind (not surprising, she’s always running late). So I drove the half hour, drove around Vermillion a bit because the town has changed since I moved out of the town. We met at the Pub. It was the bar we went to a lot while we were 21 and 22. We had 2 drinks (I ate a meal cause I was starving, she just had an appetizer). Then we got some dessert at a different place. We saw each other for almost 2 hours. It was good to see her again.

We talked a little about her wedding stuff. They have a date set for July 2019 in Yankton. Both Laci and her boyfriend, Wade, met in Vermillion. Vermillion is a pure college town, it’s fun little town…just not much for wedding venues. So they decided on Yankton. And Yankton is about half way for each of their families to travel. So Laci asked if I’d be the personal attendant. She said ‘no offense’.

Laci and I first met in Dec 2006. We became close friends shortly after that. been best friends ever since. I was thinking about who she’d want for her bridesmaids since she told me she got engaged. Honestly, not offended. Lately, my views on weddings is blah (this is a different story). I’m glad I’m not one of the bridesmaids/maid of honor. Laci still wants me to be a part of her big day. So I said I’d be the personal attendant.
