I’ve lived in South Dakota my entire life. I’ve always thought a town of 10,000+ people was big.
It is all in the perspective. My city, Austin Texas is growing by 1,000 people a week. Mostly refugees from California. Our traffic is a nightmare. The friendliness of the city is gone. A modest 3-2 home costs $400,000+. I have been here since 1978 when our population was about 200,000. Now it is closer to 2 million. I am seriously thinking of downsizing my city and moving to a smaller, more friendly town where you don’t have to spend hours a day in traffic just to cross town.
@altair A girl my age lived in San Antonio for awhile. Her mom moved her and brother to South Dakota when we were 8th graders. The girl graduated high school here and moved back to San Antonio. She always talked about how long a commute was, how she’d never been to the other side of SA
